I’m nearing the end of what laser hair removal can do. I have some lighter hairs on my scrotum that I’ll need electrolysis to remove. Has anyone on here ever had electrolysis on their privates? If so how’d it go?

I was hoping someone with direct experience would reply. I’ve done a bunch of reading on the subject, and it looks like electrolysis is the gold standard for permanent hair removal.

Depending on prices in your area, it might be cheaper to buy a machine of your own if you have someone who could operate it for you, an SO or someone you could trade services with.

I found a place that does it for men but it’s like 3.5 hours away

That could be a long, uncomfortable drive home!

I’ve had shockwave. Prp. Laser hair removal. And a prince albert piercing and drive home just fine each time lol. I think I could handle it.

Living in the south is great but has its disadvantages when it comes to things like hair removal for men.

I would love to do electrolysis + laser hair removal on my scrotum and perhaps ass. I love my woman to be hairy or trimmed but for me the less hair I have the bigger it appears. Besides wiping your ass with hair is fucking disgusting and if your woman is into rimming, well… you get the idea.

Oh the smoothness is amazing. And the cleanliness factor is awesome too. The laser had been totally worth it but I want to get electrolysis to get what little is left.

See?! Thats what I mean, I am not the only one that thinks it looks more clean that way! I can only imagine the smoothness, I have been using razor blades + shaving creams, depilatory creams, waxes but I guess the feeling of no hair must be fantastic.

Oh it’s amazing. Way more skin to skin contact. Way more sensation. Smooth balls feel amazing to touch and be touched!

Mrs. Andy said she’d be willing to do the needlework if I got the machine. Which is good, because I’m not a contortionist.

A year or so ago used electrolysis machines were cheap on eBay. Now there are just a few “for parts” and and some new Chinese machines in the $700-$800 range; more than twice what I was hoping to pay for a used one, but doable.

Does anyone have any experience with one of the cheap machines?

I remembered a friend mentioning buying an electrolysis machine a while back. Turns out it was ten years ago. We had lunch today and he let me take it home to play with. He’d never used it.

It’s a Quazar DMD 500 “laser electrolysis” machine. Not electrolysis at all. Nowadays anything associated with hair removal seems to be called “electrolysis.” I’ve seen “ultrasonic electrolysis” and “chemical electrolysis”… but never mind.

The web site in the operator’s manual is 404, and I didn’t find a single mention of the device on the web.

It appears to be a cosmetology-grade machine; the manual talks about “patients” and “customers.” I thought it might be similar to the IPL device I already have, except with more cowbell. That doesn’t seem to be case; operation of the DMD 500 is considerably more complex. The area to be de-haired has to be plucked or waxed, then you work a carbon dye into the skin. Wipe off the excess, apply “cooling gel”, and then point the laser at the black dots left by the carbon dye. The focal length is about 1.5”, and the dot should be about 1mm in diameter at the skin surface.

The explanation is that the mass of the hair shaft and follicle absorbs too much heat; to properly cauterize the root, the hair has to be plucked. The cabon dye marks the pores so you can aim the laser to the correct spots.

Mrs. Andy isn’t enthusiastic about plucking as well as lasering, so I’ll probably wind up waxing. Not something I’m looking forward to. I may have her practice on some asymmetrical chest hair I have before moving to the pubic hair.

The owner’s manual to the machine makes a distinction between “laser shaving” and “laser electrolysis.” For laser shaving, the hair is left in place and lasered. It will grow back, just like with an IPL epilator; it’s not permanent unless the hair is removed first.

I am horrified and fascinated.

Reminds me of how lasers are better at removing certain tattoo colors than others. I imagine that the carbon dye is well matched to the laser frequency.

Also reminds me of the laser cosmetic surgery scene in Logan’s Run. And also the waxing scene in 40 Year Old Virgin.
