A quick way to increase sex drive
As you go about your daily routine, sexual thoughts will often pop into your head. The redhead on the bus. The blonde on the bus. Every other girl on the bus. At once.
But modern life if so full of complications for many people, that these thoughts are pushed back. This is because of emotional relevance, based on survival. Going back thousands of years, our emotions were used as action signals: signals that some kind of action needed to be taken. So take anxiety as an example. A sabre-toothed tiger jumps infront of you, you’re likely to feel a little anxiety. Think about it; if you were able to get turned on in this case, you would not run from the tiger, but probably try to hump it. This is an extreme example of maladaptive behaviour that would lessen your chances for survival. The tiger would - possibly after a short period of confusion - eat you. So the genes that allow sexual arousal to trump anxiety have been weeded out many thousands of years ago (except for the horny tiger-man hybrid reportedly spotted in West Virginia).
You’re sat on the bus. There’s Miss Redhead, in her cute little skirt. Suddenly, your thoughts might go something like…
She looks over at you… starts to slowly caress her neck with her fingernail…she moves it down… slowly towards her… Gas Bill! Fight with wife! Shitty Job!
And lo, the sexual thought is trumped in favour of more ‘important’ concerns (as far as your autonomic systems know anyway). You never got to mentally bang this one, maybe the next one, maybe not. And your sex drive suffers, that whole system isn’t getting the workout it needs. If anything, you’re training it to turn off at the onset of you turning on.
The solution? Simple. If the problem is not the proverbial sabre-toothed tiger, ignore it and run out your fantasy. Notice when your thoughts are getting cut off in this way, and consciously bring them back to the more fun Redhead. If what you are thinking about truly needs thought, remember the situation, and come back to it later when your head is more clear. Play ‘Catch up’. It really is this simple: your sex drive will increase the more you think about sex.
