Antidepressants and PE

Hi, I was recently prescribed citalopram (Celexia), and I’m scared about taking it because of the bad sexual side effects :( Is anyone here currently taking an SSRI and PEing effectively, or is my short PEing career done?

I’m taking citalopram and have for the past 2 months. I’ve had no hard side effects on the sexual side. I still get my boners and PE is indifferent to me. My sexual drive has gone down a bit and for the first month or so I was sleepy all the time, but that wore off.

But, we react differently to these medications. Some get extreme side effects, others none what so ever. Start taking them and see what it’s like after a month, but remember, it’s much more important to have a great mental health rather than some additional penis!

I’ve been taking Celexa for well over three years, and honestly I have noticed a few things over the years.

First off, I have delayed ejaculation. Sounds great right!. Sometimes yes. It can be great to last for an hour and a half to two hours right? My wife should be all kinds of happy, but not always. With the busy life and kids, sometimes we miss the quickies and good mornings.

I have also noticed that my EQ has decreased slightly, and although I can reach full potential quickly, I often lose it quickly. My mind wanders during intercourse. I don’t last for an hour+ all the time, but it is usually 30-40 mins, and it can be long enough to become unfocused on the task at hand.

I am not discouraging you to take this medication, It has helped me greatly, but I want to be honest about how it has altered my sex life.
