Bladder/ UTI infection???

OK, I have determined that I have a bladder infection or UTI.

I try to piss and it burns and has a slow trickle (reduced flow) and I feel like I have to piss every 20-30 minutes. NO blood in the urine as of yet. I’ve basically been up ALL night because once I fall asleep I wake up and heve to go pee.

Is there anything I can do without going to a doctor? I don’t have insurance so I’m trying to avoid the whole doctors office scene. I’m going to be consulting with my dad later because he is a retired pharmacist. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Don’t mess around with bladder infections (if it is one). They can become extremely painful and make you a very, very sick puppy. Bite the bullet and see a doctor.

It is unusual for a male to get a bladder infection. Perhaps you got the clap or something like that or prostatitis or kidney stones. You need to see a Dr - You owe it to yourself.

I was told that by my internist when I got one, Luv. However I seem to have a history of picking up stuff most other guys don’t often get. trichomonas vaginalis and some other sweet things.

The bladder infection was brutal. I would not want to endure that again. See a doc, mr_e.

Thanks for the advice. My pops talked to one of his “old buddies” and I’m on some anti-biotics now. Hopefully that will clear it up. Only things I can think of is that maybe I’ve been doing a little too much PE and after the girlfrind and I have a pretty through session the other night maybe I didn’t clean him up good enough. Any way, that’s neither here nor there, I just hope that the meds knock it out.

Glad to hear you are now on meds for this. Also, drink plenty of cranberry juice, it will help to flush out the bug. If, after a few days on the meds it isn’t getting better, go see a doc and get checked out.

Hey folks, I’ve had both a bladder infection (which was painful) and I’ve passed 5 kidney stones (pain is not enough of a word). I can tell you that each episode began with the same feeling of burning. Some of the stone episodes also began with back pain, but that’s for a different thread.

Let me tell you one thing, bro - I’m no doctor, but cranberry juice seemed to make my stones worse, so be careful. My brother’s a doctor - actually a kidney doctor, who, coincidentally has passed a stone himself - and he started babbling about ? oxilates ? or something when I asked him. Apparently fruit juice, caffeine, tea, beer - just about anything that’s fun to drink - has these oxilates that cause or exacerbate stones in some people.

So it may be a bladder infection, in which case Cranberry juice may help, but I’d see a doctor if I were you.

Actually the stones weren’t all that painful. They only hurt when you breathe.

I seem to get burny pee all the time (like once every other month). It burns like the dickens after peeing and I feel like I have to move my bowels and pee more but I don’t. I usually just take a tylenol immediately when I sense its going to burn then the next day my pee is normal. I’d like to know what it is.

To help prevent infection, both partners should go and have a pee after sex.

It flushes out anything that might have gotten worked up there…. very good idea to practice this regularly IMHO.

Check to see if your having sex with someone that is using a vaginal contreceptive that you are not used to or aware of.

I found out years ago the hard way that I had an allergy to some of them, and my urethra burned for a couple of days (back before the aids days, when sex without a condom was still the norm for me).

Don’t know if the foams have changed that much, but something to think about or check into.

I haven’t noticed any correlation to sexual activity especially since I have gotten it without any sexual activity for long periods. Too long! :) It only happens after a pee and can last for an hor or so after the pee. Its like sometimes my pee turns ultra acidic or something. Usually the next time I pee it doesn’t happen again.

had it for about 5 days now. Sucks, but I won’t go to a doctor unless I am gona die.

The pain aint shit, it’s the feeling of wanting to urinate constantly..

I wish I could get some anti-B’s. O’well, hope we heal quick.

Don’t tough this out. I’m not a doctor, but as I understand it these sort of infections if left untreated can move into your bladder and worse. I’ve had a similar infection and tried cranberry juice and patience, but only meds cleared it up.

Infection is already in my bladder (hurts like they said it would).

As long as I can still piss, I’ll live. No blood or

anything like that, just funky smell.

I’ll have to be damn near dead to go to a fucking hospital for this.

And even then, I’ll have to think about it.

I’ll take pain over embarrassment 100 fold.

Your right, the cranberry juice didn’t help from what I could tell.

I put it off. Thought it was the usual prostatitis I was then having. When I did go to my doctor, the bladder infection was so fulminated that they wanted to hospitalize me. I was able to talk them out of that stance, but just barely. Don’t fuck with your ailing organs.

So, with no money right now or health insurance, you work a little harder to pay it off. They give you time to do that.
