Circulation problem; discomfort in groin

Circulation problem; discomfort in groin

Mods: I would like to post this in the men’s sexual health forum but am not allowed.

I have a problem where if I sit down on hard surfaces for over five minutes I get a feeling of discomfort in my penis and testicles. It feels as though it is a circulation thing, or as if my penis falls asleep. It is mostly in the testicles and groin(between anus and testes) or internal penis. I don’t usually feel it in my visible part of my penis but it does cause me to contract a bit.

It does not happen on every hard surface it is usually brought on by the way I am sitting. It is kind of scary to me and I avoid this situation whenever possible but it can show up out of nowhere when I stand up.

I have had a vericoselectomy several years ago, and I did have the problem prior.

Also I get a severe pain (like a clenching pain) in the same area if I jump down (landing on feet) from heights. It feels like a muscular contraction but will last for about 2 minutes after the landing. It is extremely painful as if I was kicked (with the toe part of a shoe) in the groin (directly in between the testicles and the anus).

I know this is odd, but I have never found ANY info on this issue on the web and was hoping somebody could help me out. I guess I could see my urologist again but I don’t have the funds at this time. In a couple months it will be a different story, but I would like to know if anyone else might have some info for me.

I am in decent shape. I go to the gym and run. I do have some lower back issues (herniated discs in my lumbar spine with central stenosis) and it is very possible it could have stemmed from that.

Thanks guys!

Moved, wangalang, per your request.

For Lampwick, becoming hung like a donkey was the result of a total commitment.

It sounds like it might emanate from your prostate, is there tenderness in that area if probed or massaged? I do not think it is a result of prior back maladies. Or, it could be some hypersensitivity affected by your testicles, the jump inducing pain might indicate a testicular abnormality. There suspensory structure maybe out of sorts or somehow not being insulated/protected from what would be normal activities.

It is possible it might be realted to a lower back problem . You mention that jumping from a height aggravates things, and that is where the shock would be felt and the nevers would indicate pain.

Just as an example Disc trouble can be felt right the way dwn the leg as it presses on a nerve.

If so, it might be worth while to get your back checked and perhaps some physiotherapy there might help to fix it.

Hey thanks for the responses guys! Let me respond to both of what you said because both seem to be very on point to what I’m feeling.

KountryKarl,
I did originally question to whether it could be a prostate thing but no, to the touch of the external area of scrotum to butt, I have no abnormal sensations. Going to the bathroom I have no problems at all, and I am a little young I believe(hope!) I’m in late 20’s to have prostate problems.

I highly suspect the clenching could have to do with suspensory ligaments attached to my testicles. Men with vericose veins do complain of having a “heavy” feeling in their testicles.
I do wear very supportive “pouch” trunk style underwear to help control things and it has helped immensely with pain I used to get from just walking around(heavy ‘feeling’ testes). After my vericoselectomy the doctor/urologist instructed me to wear supportive tighter underwear for the rest of my life.

Petitfaun,
This also must have something to do with it. I do have some nerve damage, and our nerves do stem from our spine. Occasionally I can get the shooting pain in my leg and I do get pain in the groin. If I tweak my back, I start to get a dull throbbing discomfort in my testes, which is normally my indicator of “oh crap I need a pain pill or anti inflammatory” because I realize it is my back. As soon as I feel that in my groin I know my back is having problems and it’s necessary to stretch or lay down on my back on a hard surface for a couple of minutes.
I think some physical therapy would do wonders for that aspect and probably some chiropractic work again would help a lot (as it pretty much eliminated all back problems for about a year and a half for me)

Very possible the back has to do with the circulation problem I feel, while the suspensory ligaments and nerve/disc compression have to do with the jumping down problem.

Thank you for your responses guys, this is very much appreciated! Keep ‘em coming!

If you think your back has something to do with the problem it might be worth getting a weightlifters belt, and wear that when you are doing all your exercises.

I broke a disc in my back years ago The disc has long gone so there is a bit of movement there, and I find the belt very helpful, particularly at the gym. And if I am doing any bending or lifting work.
