Cluster of small white dots just appeared on the skin

I used to have something similar to that on the shaft of my penis. Tiny white, well pearly,spots that looked like they were under my skin. It scared the crap out of me, I knew it couldn’t be STD as I was a virgin at the time (when I went through puberty) and being young I was scared it could be something serious. It turns out though that they are just ‘fordyce’ spots, very common among men and not harmful at all. I believe fordyce spots and pearly white papules are the same thing, not too sure tho, both harmless. Hope that’s helped!

Just done a Google search, apparently not the same thing! Fordyce spots are slightly more serious, and red. Must have been the pearly white papules.

I went to the dermatlogist and he said it was either sebaceous glands or lichen nitidus, but he’d have to do a test to figure out which. He said the test may leave a scar, and would require an injection into my penis to numb the area while they take one of the bumps off. Since its not iching or bothering me in any way I’ve decided to just leave it alone.

I guess neither condition is that bad.
