These are my thoughts also. But with women over 40 I tend not to bother with condoms,unless they insist. What I have heard. This may be nieve, is that if you take a piss and wash your cock after unprotected sex ther is little chance of the man catching anything. Is this a reasonable asumption or not?

Your assumption is quite reasonable.

If you piss and rinse out your dick with ordinary soap in the immediate aftermath of unprotected sex, that slashes the chances of many STD approximately by 40-50%. Which is not bad.

You can further decrease the probabilities if you wash your cock with some antiseptic medical fluids. Namely, with Chlorhexidine Gluconate 2-4% or Hydrogen Peroxide 3-6%. This stuff reduces the chances to catch up something by up to 70-80%. Naturally, you can’t totally avoid the risk of contamination.

I’m incredulous that it is because the duration of “sex” is different for different people. For me, its like 1-2 hours. Not to mention, most guys ‘man-scape’ these days. I know I do. When I shave my shaft free of hair (pre-sex), I’d assume I’m introducing minor cuts (far too small to bleed) into my epidermis. This would further increase the risk of catching an STD.

Unfortunately, I can’t provide a reference for my statement. I heard this number (40-50%) several times 5-7 years ago and took it for granted. I haven’t studied this subject since. But it seems to me quite logical. If you wash out contaminated fluids from your cock and do it rather sooner than later, you significantly decrease the possibility of catching something up.

I can’t but agree that this number is rather indicative and over-generalizes individual circumstances. Like you admitted the most important factor here is the duration of sex. Specifically, given, that different STD require different time frames to get into your tissues or blood circulation and infect you. There are other factors: type of sex, to what extent tissues both man and woman are traumatized during and before sex, individual immunity and the list goes on and on.

I should have particularly emphasized in my previous post, that both 40-50% and 70-80% were outlined just to give an idea to what extent risks can be reduced, presumably, for a cock, who had a 15-20-minute sex with a vagina which more or less suited it and then this cock was rinsed out, let’s say, in 5-10 minutes.

Good point. Small cuts from shaving or ingrown hairs could even increase the risk of contracting HIV through vaginal intercourse, just as open herpes sores can.

I even wrap it with long term committed girlfriends! The stress of worrying about pregnancy (and STDs with randoms) is not worth the pleasure.

Since I always use condoms I can’t last long without them, which forces me to continue using them.

About 7-8 years ago I didn’t use them often and after breaking up with my gf went through a phase where it was very difficult to start using them, I would lose my erection constantly, eventually you just get used to it.
