Well not really good news to report. I know its been a while since the last post but I have been away for a while.
I took the antibiotics prescribed for the full 5 days and the symptoms cleared up a bit, the urge wasnt as strong. However, on the beginning of the 5th day it was probably the worst that it had ever been. This really pissed me off as I had to endure a long train Journey - which meant I was up and down every 15 minutes to the toilet.
The symtoms then almost completely cleared for two weeks. They feeling to urinate was always there but it was hardly noticeable, I slept easily and didnt even have to get up in the night.
As soon as I returned home, the problem has become worse again. Its not as bad as before, but its still enough to drive me crazy.
My one theory to go on at the moment is that masturbation provokes this in some way, whilst I was away I ejaculated twice - at home its more frequent.
I am going to go for a week without any sexual contact to see if things improve - if they don’t its back to the doc.
One of the scariest things about having a problem like this is the fact I always assume the worst. Its a habit i’m afraid. After digging around the net for a while, I came across a disease called Interstitial Cystitis. It is basically a disease that can last for YEARS at a time, in some cases never goes away. You have a constant feeling and urge to urinate (the most severe cases being 60 times a day) and you have to restructure your whole life around the nearest urinal. There is no cure, only medicatiton that can relive the symptoms a little.
Fuck that for a life.
I’m not a doc, but surely if this was a bacterial infection - it would have cleared up by now? It wouldn’t also have peaks and troughs in terms of severity either would it?
