Then you are safe because 16-17 is not an early age.
I would strongly suggest some form of exercise. Some like UD and myself notice no difference; but, the vast majority of people will have a favorable reaction. Exercise alone is clinically shown, (lazy, no link), to have superior long term benefits when compared to either just meds or meds & exercise combined.
In the same vein of thought I would also recommend the fish oil. Dirt cheep, no medical down side, and plenty of health benefits even if it doesn’t help with your negative thinking.

I am anti-psych meds and believe that the US even more than most industrial nations throws this crap out like candy. Bush and others are now trying to push laws that will allow them to carry out mandatory mental health screenings and then require you to eat the candy. However, people do exist who’s brain chemistry no amount of “happy-think”, exercise, or meditation will be able to reset. For people like this meds can be a God-send.
I expect that very few of those on anti-depressants fit into the God-send and that most would be much better of the meds.
