How bad is it if it accumulates in the body?

You may start losing the hair on your head.

I doesn’t accumulate. It is produced and metabolized like any other bodily substance.

I agree with Westla.

Couldn’t there be a temporary excess if you supplemented with it though?

DHT (dihydrotestosterone) is the most potent naturally occurring androgen and is produced from free testosterone through the action of 5-alpha-reductace. 5-alpha-reductace concentrations are highest in the peripheral tissues (genital skin and hair follicles). Male and female pattern hair loss is thought to be due to the effects of DHT on genetically predisposed hair follicles. Binding of DHT to the hair follicle results in gradual miniaturization of the hair and eventual hair loss. DHT is primarily responsible for the physical changes that occur during male sexual maturation and is thought to be proportionally correlated to sex drive as well as erectile capabilities in men. In addition, DHT has been associated with benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH) and prostate cancer.

DHT (Dihydrotachysterol) is a form of vitamin D. Vitamin D acts as a hormone in the body. It helps to control calcium in the body. Vitamin D changes calcium and phosphorus absorption from the diet and their role in strengthening bones.

You tend to get more of it as you age. The side effect - your hair may start to fall out.

Stats (bp) 2004/08/19 8.0 X 5.5" 2005/08/29 8.2 X 5.8" Goal - I am good for now

I see. It doesn’t affect mental alertness then……

Well is there a way to get rid of it, then it may reduce occurrence of baldness

>You tend to get more of it as you age.

I read the opposite, that DHT generally declines with age along with testosterone.

>Well is there a way to get rid of it

Yeah, cut your balls off.

Propecia helps.

A few guys have run into major problems from taking finasteride. They are a minority. Personally, I don’t care much about my hair line, certainly not enough to bother using anything in an attempt to delay its recession.

how about it’s effects on the prostate?
