A flaw in the system of prescription, anyway, is that few doctors either understand how the drug works or take the time to offer hints about its use when they hand it out or prescribe it. Many guys with ED who could benefit from it end up failing and assume it does not work for them without giving it a good trial.
Hints:
Eat no food, even snacks, for about three hours before you take it. Once it is in your system, you can eat and it will usually work fine, so just time your “romantic” dinners out, but lay low on fatty meals.
Alcohol in sensible amounts does not seem to affect it.
Men with ED will get a better over-all reaction by taking it regularly for awhile, not just on a “need” basis for sex: like just on the weekend, or whatever. Regular use reduces the side effects (flushed face, headache, etc.) in most users. In some these side effects disappear entirely.
Try different dosages. If the first one (say, 25 mg) doesn’t do anything after a couple tries, move up to 50 mg. Do a couple solo runs on it first so you will get a sense of how quickly (or slowly) it will work for you before you test it in bed. In bed, with a new partner especially, we tend to be a little tense (hello, adrenalin!). Testing it out before hand will reduce that stress/anxiety because you will know what to expect.
Viagra does have a reputation for tending to lengthen one’s ejaculation timing, but this is dosage-related for most . Higher dosages increase the risk of anorgasmia for those susceptible to this side effect of sildanafil. If you get to that stage, you may not be able to cum to save yourself. Totally frustrating to you and your partner. If that happens, cut back on your dosage next time.
