Duh boids and duh bees - how did you hear about sex?

How was it that you learned how babies are made and about general sexual health practices? Your parents, your friends, some organized school course?

When I was in 7th grade, long time ago, one morning we kids were all ushered into an assembly - girls first, then boys - segregated events. We were made to watch an animated film in which colored arrows pierced colored circles while a voice droned on about “zygotes” or some such. My friend Ricky wanted to know at lunch that day if I was into archery. I was and we talked a good deal about the type equipment we both had.

My parents never gave any of their kids any kind of direction. I had to learn through rumor from older boys at school. Naive as I was, it took me a long time to figure out that penises went into vaginas. I remember thinking that that could not possibly be. MY parents would never do such a thing. Apparently they did. And at least fairly often. We were six children.

My Mom showed me what sex was when I was twelve. That’s why I’m into older chicks.

:eek2: Are you saying what I think your saying?

I learned about sex from sex ed in school and also the “What’s happening to my body” type books she checked out for me during puberty.

Too bad they don’t teach you how to have sex in sex ed.

I too learned some, not a lot, from the class we had in the 5th grade. My mother never told me anything, I learned from friends, or on my own.

My own children however, were told what sex was for, and that boys had a penis and girls had a vagina. I remember when my middle son was oh 6 or so, he stated that I couldn’t have sex anymore. When I asked him why, he said “You said that sex was for having babies right” and I replied that yes, that was part of it, he then stated “Since you can’t have anymore babies, you can’t have sex”. I quickly responded that while the main purpose of sex was to have babies, it wasn’t the only reason two adults had sex. I did not want my own children growing up as naive as their mother.

Maxtro, the whole purpose behind sex ed, is to inform you about your own body, and its function, the how to is on your own.

I learned from sex ed and my dad told me a lot about it. Now before you guys freak out and think anything bad (like the above statement, lol). My parents were divorced before I ever hit puberty and I was raised by my dad. Whatever I learned in school, I went home and asked him about.

I figure that had to be really tough for him to do. I think he had always figured my mom would be around to have the “boids and da bees” talk to me about. I remember him sweating bullets every time I had a question for him. Bless his heart, I’m surprised he survived my pubescent years, lol.

Heh I’m aware of that. It’s just that when ever I hear sex ed being mentioned I think of an episode of Weird Science where the guys were in a sex ed class where they were actually going to be partnered up with girls and learn how to have sex. BTW Vanessa Angel is hot.

Needles to say the first time I had sex, I didn’t have a clue what I was doing….and I still don’t :(

(Maxtro looks for a practice partner)

I learned on the streets from the older guys talking about it. And then actually saw the act from smoker flicks.

Porn….

My parents were/are worthless

Friend’s basement, stack of Penthouses. My parents really were no help, and I can’t remember ever having “the talk”. So I just picked it up from older kids or on my own.

My wife found out also from hanging out with a friend. They were in the garage one day, and found a box marked “good movies”. Being inquisitive 8-year-olds, they decided to find out what daddy’s good movies were about. Lesson for all you parents out there. Don’t keep your porn in a box in the garage marked “good movies”

My Dad gave me the talk when I was 12 or 13. Showed me how to use a condom on a banana. At the time, I was totally embarrassed to be talking with my dad about sex, but looking back on it, it was helpful.

My mother never said anything to us boys and apparently if she did say anything to my sister it didnt work since my sis was pregnant at 15.

I come from a large Italian family and my older cousins would tell the younger ones what you were supposed to do. My first sexual experience (not including masturbation) was a blow job at 13-14 from a senior girl in high school that was my cousin’s girlfriend. He asked her to show me how it was to be done. I am eternally grateful to him for his generousity and for her for swallowing. She did give great head. After that I had a couple of female cousin’s that I would hang around with and try to get into their friends pants. Didnt work often, but often enough to give me bragging rights. (Well, at least I thought so)

My father tried one time in a pathetic attempt at mature parenting and it kind of went like this.

1) you cant fuck a girl when she is “on” her period
2) dont use a condom if you dont have to - it’s like taking a shower with a raincoat on”
3) only go as far as they will let you
4) “no” doesnt always mean “no”
5) show me a guy that wont get down on his girlfriend and I will show you a girlfriend that can be taken away

So that’s where it all started with me.

You all are still missing the point... The story was great and all but should have ass (and) some anal in it.- RWG

I knew about sex and anatomy at least since I was very very young. Too young to remember when. I had a big anatomy book that was loaded with diagrammatical pictures which I picked up the configuration of organs etc from, later on when I discovered the internet, I fleshed out my knowledge, extended it rather, to learn what doggy style, missionary, anal, female squirting and fisting, Gspot orgasm, pumping, oral, and amongst a shitload of others, PE was. :D

School didn’t teach me a thing that I didn’t already know, and none of it was practically useful.

Every kid should have access to the ‘net. :D

I don’t remember much about sexual education. My mother told me the most I needed to know about sex was not to have it. I heard a few friends talk about it but most of my friends were inexperienced like me. I didn’t learn the important stuff or believe stuff until I experienced it myself such as bleeding the first time. That it hurts. That not all guys care if you aren’t moist and the friction burns. I’ve learned by doing and hearing. And forever learning more.

You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

Zig Ziglar

A friend of mine, saddled with the affectionate nickname Mike Monkeyhead (figure it out), had the unwavering attention of our crew one afternoon as he detailed a bizarre revelation on Girly Severino’s (figure it out) backyard porch.
We stared in puzzled silence as he dry humped the peeling paint of the top step; kissing his forearm with a passion I have yet to see matched.
Only after Jimmy O’Brien (nothing to figure out) put it together that what Monkeyhead was suggesting also applied to our mothers and fathers did the whole idea begin to take on an implausible air.

“Fucking Monkeyhead,” the group of foul mouthed, irony challenged nine year olds started in. “Such a lying pussy.”
