Epila laser hair remover

Epila laser hair remover

I have been looking into laser hair removal and found a litle unit on ebay called “Epila” which sells for about £120.00 (US$200).

Does any one have any experience of the system?
- Does it work?
- Is it worth the dosh?

I tried to do some research on semiconductor lasers…

…but got bogged down in the terminology (and I have to go to work and ran out of time).

Found two sites, with two versions, of the Epila home laser hair removal machines.

bonkers.com.au

Both look like they use the same script and also seem to have been written by someone who does not speak English as their primary language. Not a good sign IMO.

I’d say it may not do what it promises, but more research is needed.

As far as I know laser hair removal works this way - the hairsack heats up and is destroyed by the laser energy that is conducted through the hair. For this to be efficient the hair has to be rather dark. I wanted to do hair removal with laser but decided against it since my body hair is mostly light.

Read more about this before you go and waste your money!

The manual suggests that it is not advisable to use it on genitals!l.

Look for ‘manual’ along the bottom line
