Erectile Dysfunction and Natural Vasodilators

My understanding from having used C a lot is that taking it on an empty stomach gives you better plasma distribution of the drug initially. After you have that established, it doesn’t matter much what you eat or when. You still will have the same half-life performance period, which for you is very good.

The track record of this and similar drugs shows that older men (which you are not) get longer-lasting effects - in spite of the stated half-life - than younger men because older men have slower metabolisms. I get usually a pretty reliable 72 hours. Because I do have ED and I know enough about why I have it, I pop 20 mg of C every third day. Keeps me very even, performance wise, during that time period.

You are fortunate to have that long a response. Saves you money.

I am feeling like we are highjacking PingPang’s thread. He wanted to talk about “natural” vasodilators, not PDE5 drugs.

On that subject there are only two that I know to be reliable, at least for me and a lot of other guys I’ve discussed this with. Maca and unadulterated L-arginine.

Keep in mind, that nothing on the market - either man-made or naturally occuring - works for everyone because we all unique from a chemical point of view.

A8,

As to the gastric upset issue with V/C/L, has anyone done any studies on taking these sublingually? That is, take a much smaller gravimetric dose but get it directly into the bloodstream and bypass the stomach. Or, does the drug depend on gastric action to potentiate it? Also, is the molecule small enough to be absorbed sublingually? If it did go OK sublingually, that might take a few variables out of the loop and the effect could be very fast without any stomach upset anyway provided, of course, one could set the doseage properly.

Just wondering,

I can attest that L-argenine works and maca, for me, REALLY works. I also take an adaptogenic formula called PrimeOne that contains siberian ginsing and several other herbs and it helps in a number of ways, not just in getting wood.

Because C works faster than the others, sublingually probably isn’t going to make much of a difference. But with V and L, for sure. The taste is pretty awful, if that doesn’t put you off.

My guess is that the sublingual (under the tongue) route won’t reduce by a whole lot the gastric upset in someone prone to that but maybe some. You are still going to have a full-body plasma dose taking it sublingually, just not such a full splash at first, down into a sensitive stomach.

I have acid reflux, with or without these drugs, and take Zantac daily for that. Seems to eliminate any gastric problems for me. The Zantac, though, had no power over the Levitra the couple times I tried it.

OK - thanks for the info. Maybe some sharp compounding pharmacologist will come up with a sublingual for V or L some day (I like strawberry or vanilla flavor - LOL). Hey, sorry about the acid reflux as that can really be bothersome. I had a friend that had ARflx really bad - finally got control of it using a 2-phase digestive enzyme formulation.

Just FYI, they are all working on nasal spays now. Fast, efficient. But they are a ways down the road.
