Excema patch on scrotum = Negative on sex life?

Hey everyone,
I have a patch of excema on my left scrotum (3”x3”) and due to the fact that I have never had even a whisper of a sex life nobody has ever seen it during “romantic moments”.

I was wondering because it’s all red raised skin that flares up and scales skin (as excema does tend to do alot) how do you think a woman will take this on first sight and do you think I should say something in advance?

She may think it is an STD!

I presume it would kill a moment of passion to see something that I personally think is repulsive.

I also have the patches on my underarms.

I’ve had something similar since I was 17. I am now 18 and have just recently seen a dermatoligist about it, he diagnosed my case as psoriasis (sp). He gave me a pretty strong concentration of Hydrocortisone (sp) to apply twice a day for 2 weeks to a month. It’s been two weeks now and the redness and scaling has pretty much disapeared, the tone of the skin where the rash was, however, is still a little pink so I’m hoping to rid of that in the next few weeks.

As for you sex life, the dermatolilist said it is completely safe during sex. Not contagious at all. So you’re good in that department, however I’d definetly mention it to your partner for the most significant reason that she/he might think of it as an STD, which will freak anybody out.

So it’s your call, treat it and stay abstinate for a few weeks. Or if you just can’t wait let your partner know before hand, if they love you and really want to be with you they’ll understand.

I should have been a bit clearer om my background,
I have had it since I was 11 years old or so and it has only got worse (although slowly so).
I have been using steroid creams and such which don’t really work too good for me as overuse can cause stretchmarks so I try to limit thier use.

Excema is a lifelong illness with no cure.
I just hope that it doesn’t freak anyone out that sees it.

Oh, and although another topic, I am not seeing anyone, so I don’t have this as a pressing issue it was just a bit of mental pre-preparing.

Lib-tech, I was wondering if you have any other skin problems other than psoriasis?
In addition to excema I also have dandruff and a different form of excema on my knuckles that makes them crack and bleed and look worse than an 80-year olds hands.
(This gets stares from people:( )
