Help Regarding Procepia

Guys, I M a 22 year old guy, I take Procepia for my male pattern balding. When I am on the medication my sexual desire is average to above average. I ran out of tablets last week and I couldn’t get appointment until next week. I have been off it for one week and my sexual desire plummeted this past week. I am very worried if procepia is having this effect. I mean, one day I know I will stop procepia maybe in a couple years from now and I don’t want to have no sexual desire when I stop. What do you guys think ? Did anyone take procepia and it did not affect them sexually ?

Your comments would be greatly appreciated Thanks,

Johnny2

Usually this medication ( finesteride) has the effect of diminished desire/response etc.

The larger doasge of finesteride (Proscar) is used to treat BPH in older men.

Your problem(s) may not be from the medication.

The incidence of sexual problems with Propecia (usually difficulty with erections) is said to be less than 2% when you’re on the drug. There should be no sexual problems when the drug is discontinued. As Cajun said, your problem may not be from the medication.

johnny2,

I’ve taken propecia for over 6 years and have had no sexual problems of any sort, except for a reduction in cum load. Libido has always stayed the same, etc. You should speak to your doctor and check into other factors that may be affecting you.

Im 21, and ive been on propecia for about 19 months now. I dont think ive had a decrease in libido, but sometimes my dick will get to about only 3/4 hard and blow instantly, probably not propecia related though, but then again who knows.

Oh well, it sucks being a 21 year old with thinning hair and a small dick

So, what are your guy’s personal experiences with the effectiveness of Propecia/finasteride for thin hair? I’m getting ready to begin taking it myself….I order it online, generic…for around $18 a month with no prescription.

I read on the Propecia site that any new hair growth will fall out within 12 months after you stop taking the stuff. Has anyone heard of a way to keep the hair? I don’t really want to start Propecia if it means I have to stay on it for as long as my vanity requires. That could be a while.

I’ve been taking it for about three years and the thin area on the crown of my head, found early by my hair stylist, filled back in completely within six months. I never had a bald spot, just less hair in a circular area about three inches in diameter. I’ll stay on it till I die I guess. Don’t want to deal with the alternative.

Pretty much where I’m at. No actual bald spots…just thin. Been going thin since high school.

My doc said that he doesn´t recommend me to take it, nobody knows if there are any long time side effects.

SWM,

It’s worked well for me. I’ve always had thick curly hair, so when it started to thin out slightly in my 40’s, I decided to take action first with Rogaine (didn’t like it, dried my scalp) and then with propecia and have never looked back since. Much of my thinning area returned to normal. So, I still have a nice head of hair, whereas my brother has lost most of his from not taking any action. The genetics in my family probably would have eventually lead me to losing my hair at the crown and front area, but the intervention of propecia has prevented that. I’ll be on it until there is a better alternative on the market. Again, for me no sexual problems or side effects(other than a reduced cum load). Sometimes, I think if guys do have sexual side effects, they may be more psychological than physical.

Can this substance be used to fight off a widow’s or widower’s peak? I am starting to have my hair retract a bit. Some body noticed that since they saw me 8 years ago and just ran into me. 20 years old vs 28, what a difference!

I know Lewd Ferrigno personally.

Just a word of caution , stay away from pill cutting and proscar.

Why? That’s exactly what I do. Proscar is the same drug, only five times stronger in a pill about the same size. I cut mine in quarters and take one per day. It’s certainly cheaper than buying Propecia tablets. For about the same money I get a four month supply while others get one month’s worth of Propecia.

The tablet is an odd shape and the pieces never look the same, but I’m certain the dosage I’m taking is never more than 1.2-1.3 mg with the recommended dose being 1 mg per day. I’ve never had problems with erections and I’ve seen PE gains while on the drug.
