I would like to know how fluid exchange could occur in this scenario. I was the inserter, which I read statistically 1/500 get infected, furthermore, it was only 10 seconds. Anyone with medical background know?
I don’t have a medical background, but I’ve read the research, and my understanding is also that being on the receiving end is much riskier, especially with anal, where abrasions in the rectum are inevitable. But I don’t think anyone should ever risk anal without a condom, outside a truly solid LTR like marriage. Spreading HIV vaginally is harder, assuming both partners don’t have other STDs present (e.g., herpes), but it’s still a risk, and I wouldn’t go condom-less outside a faithful relationship in which I know we’re both clean.
My main concerns are herpes and HPV. Both are exceedingly common, and both can easily be spread even when the dude’s wearing a condom. A good additional protection against them (although it’s still weak) is to be sure to get a good look at “what you’re getting into,” if you know what I’m saying — chances of transmission are much higher when sores or warts are present.
