Recommendations for hair management/moisturizing?
Brief overview: had an std scare recently because I went raw and noticed a rash a few days later. Tests all came back negative (talk about relief) and I think I’ve figured out what the issue is, but not how to solve it.
What seems to be happened is the hair follicles on my anatomy get inflamed/irritated, and it seems to be as a result of dry friction for the most part most likely from shaving. My solution to this was to use some random hand moisturizer to combat the dryness (I think this dryness is eczema because that happens to me). Worked great, instant relief, but then a new problem arose. My pores/follicles were getting clogged with grease from the moisturizer because it’s oily and my city is pretty humid as of late, so it created an even slightly worse rash than the one that was around before. It subsides pretty soon after it comes but it’s a discomfort I’d rather not deal with if I don’t have to, and I see the potential for future embarrassment if I don’t sort this out while I have the time.
Also, if I pluck instead of shave it’ll be significantly better for the first day or two, but around day 2 or 3 I’ll get a ridiculous amount of ingrown hairs
So main questions. What are some ways to shave more sensitive areas? What are some good moisturizers that are for more sensitive skin or that are less oily that regular hand moisturizer? Any other advice?
For reference, I think what’s happening to me is mainly moderate folliculitis, but it may also have to do with mild eczema in conjunction with the blocked follicles.
