Strange Penis scar

Strange Penis scar

On the underside of my penis it seems there is a scar that leads from the base of the penis by the scrotum up to the frenulum, and been there for as long as I can remember. It is about 1mm in width. It hasnt bothered me, I’ve just allways wondered why it was there.

:-k Did my parents have me go through some operation I don’t know about? Or is it a natural thing. Does anyone else have this?

:chicken:

That’s natural, and called a raphe. It’s the seam where your genitals formed. You’ve had it since you were somewhere around 10-12 weeks old.

Phew! Thanks Hobby, thought I may have been abducted by aleins! He he, but seriously I have seen numerous diagrams none had ever shown this. Thanks again.

I’ve got one too. It’s slightly redder than the rest of my shaft skin, especially when erect and even more so straight after PE and runs up the underside of my dick to my circ scar. Its a bit skewed, but that gives my dick some more individuality! Is that what yours is like, Melvin?

As soon as I can I’ll try and post some pics of my raphe in the members’ pics section (as well as starting and current pics), webcam quality willing!

Yeah Sounds exactly like mine Rifor. From what Hobby describes I doubt we are “unique”.

Learn something new everyday I guess :)

Hi guys,

Yes, we sure learn something new every day. I did a search on Google as now I am intrigued by this.

I found these two definitions.

http://www.bart … 0/R0044000.html (it even has a sound file demonstrating the pronunciation)

RAPHE (Search FastHealth.com) RAPHE

I am more clear that I have a raphe on my scrotum than on my penis. I could find nothing about a raphe running along underside of the penis. I sure know about the one on my scrotum as I nicked it when shaving down there once. Ouch!! I have been more careful since!

It will be interesting to see Rifor’s pic when he is able to post it.

Ant

Mine’s very dark :( :(

Does it look like a map of Wales?

Mine is very noticable on the scrotum, not at all on the penis. However, my circumcision scar is very dark and makes it look like I am wearing some sort of ring!

Thanks Westla,

was going to post a link to it myself but it must have slipped my mind.

i would like to know one thing did you guys find the lines before or after PE because me i saw mine before i started to notice the oposite sex

same here

Guys I too have what seems to be the same thing. Mines is a very dark red and it’s much more noticeable when my penis is flaccid. I guess when it’s erect it stretches and it’s not as dark. But yeah I’m pretty sure this is what you guys are describing.

sorry to bring up an old thread but do most guys have this? i do!

Yeah, how visible it is varies, but every male has that seam, because embryos start out female. Before the end of the first trimester, hormones start to turn our labia majora into a scrotum, and the slit gradually zips itself closed.

This is why hypospadias is sometimes characterized as an intersex condition, because it can represent an incomplete migration of the orifice from the female location to the male location. Enjoy this web site that shows an animation of process:

You can use a slider to stop the animation when it gets to your level of maleness.
