Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has heard of or used the product follicare? I was watching tv lastnight, and was curious to know if it actually worked.

Thanks,

mm

It looks like they’re depending on the ingredients (many found in penis pills or multivitamins) to be absorbed through the skin to work. Doesn’t look promising to me.

If you do use a hair restoration product, stop using it at the first sign of ED if that occurs. Continuing to use the product will just make it more difficult to get your hormone levels back to normal.

Avocet, you’ll never miss your turn, right? :D Why did you keep it that abstract this time. Never heard that Rogaine will effect hormones. For sure Rogaine instead will kill your leaver or kidneys :chuckle:

Nope. I have to monitor you jerks who think hair is more important than good erections.
Granted not everyone who uses these products will have a problem. But there are enough users of hair restoration products who get into serious trouble that it needs to be pointed out that the potential for ED is a real one. Since the manufacturers aren't making anything of this yet - that would be counter to sales - and many of you are so cavalier about the potential (no insult intended, believe me), I feel somebody should be throwing in some caveats.

Rogaine works just like the others. Hair growth is a hormonally triggered process. Most of these preparations use finasteride which causes a hormonal change which changes the normal balance of various testosterone/estrogine levels. Shift those levels in the wrong way and, although you may have a great crop of head hair, you may not be able to get it up once you get to bed Miss Perfect. What's the point?

Take it easy! Your assumptions regarding the marketing related motivation by Merck not to tell people about Propecia’s possible side effects is incomplete. Next time, please throw the enormous legal risk of Merck getting sued in a collective action by thousands of “limp penis” owners into your equation, OK? Anyway, I think you’re getting carried away by your crusaide against Propecia.

And I will be back to show you how Rogaine works - it does not work on hormonal level - instead it was derived from a product which was developed to decrease blood pressure. But I will come back on this. You’ve been the one asking me to be more precise about physical/medical facts once!

OK, let’s chill a bit ;)

I think you are misreading my attitude completely. This isn’t a crusade I am on, I am only throwing out caveats where it seems appropriate to do that.

The manufacturers have not been sued yet, though I understand there is talk of a class action suit by a group of men who developed long-lasting ED which they feel is a direct result of their use of hair growth preparations like Propecia.

If you can show that finasteride does not have a hormonal component in the way it works, I will be more than happy to stand corrected.

PS:

Apologies to you LBorn. I see that I used the expression “you jerks” and didn’t put in a smilie. My bad. Easy misinterpretation there.

My friends sexual drive was affected by Propecia, but in his case it was a good thing the guy was the biggest whore I ever knew he would fuck anything and he would jerk off up to 6 times a day. After starting on it he was pretty much normal. I’m thinking of trying it while my hair is still there it is starting to thin but AVO rest assured I will quite at the first sign of even slight ED

I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work. Thomas Edison (1847-1931)

Avocet, no problem at all. Anyway, I am chilling ;-) I would come up with an argument that Rogaine doesn’t work on a hormonal basis - Rogaine does not contain Finasteride. It’s Minoxidyl - at least this was the case when I used it topically back in the early 90s.
