I do have a problem with taking a long time to empty my bladder and also a problem with completely emptying my bladder. This results in my needing to urinate very frequently. If I’m in a situation where I need to, I can go 2 or 3 hours without urinating, but if I’m in a situation where I can urinate as frequently as I wish then I probably would urinate 30 times in a day.

I asked my family doctor about this and I asked him to give a prescription for some detrol to try and see if it would help, but he said that he thought that it wouldn’t help because he thought that my problem was incomplete emptying of my bladder. That was just his educated guess. He knows that I don’t have health insurance and cannot afford to have expensive procedures done.

I do not know any of the specifics of where the stricture might be.

I rarely will have some discomfort during urination or ejaculation, but it does not reach the level of pain.

Detrol affects the bladder’s ability to contract and is given to patients with “overactive bladder” syndrome. The signs of which are urgency and increased frequency of urination. If you have a stricture, Detrol wouldn’t help.

Not having insurance is a big problem since you’d have to see a specialist (urologist). Without a definite diagnosis from one it’s difficult to say what you should do. It seems you’ve lived with this condition for a while and have made ajustments. Hopefully it won’t get worse as you get older.

It’s been a while since this post, so I’ll ask the question again: “am a little curious: does anyone toy around with urethral sounds ?”

I do on a once or twice a month basis, with a 1/4” diameter, full length sound (15”). I enjoy the stimulation, and it helps keep my urethra stretched especially near my prostate. I use sterile procedures and have never had a problem with infections. Although, I cannot stress enough, the importance of sterile procedures to prevent infections.

Had my best sounding session ever the other night. At the time I was wearing six, 5/16” thick x 2” inside diameter, stainless steel cock & ball rings, and figured, “what the heck”, I’ll do a quick sounding session with the rings on. Reasons for the stretching of the meat!

If you, as I masturbate 62 years almost daily (27367 times), decreases the sensitivity of the glans and also the penis. I have BPH and a constriction in my penile shaft which causes me to dribble and take a long time to empty my bladder so I use Hegars only to the base of my penis maybe weekly to improve my stream. It works dramatically but is temporary.

I’ve already seen a urologist about it and he wanted to slice and dice me which I was hesitant to do. I asked about dilation and he said that it works but has to be done repeatedly as I’ve already found out. Using sterile supplies and procedure is paramount to avoiding an infection.

Considering the hydrodynamics, I’ve no doubt it reduces the ejaculatory stream since the hose gets bigger while the contractions and volume remain unchanged, but I was already reduced in that department anyways and would rather have an improved piss stream.
