6w in, update and a couple questions

Been following the newbie routine for 6w now. So far I have gained about 1/8” in EL and 3/8”+ in EG. Happy I’m seeing some results, I’ve really noticed the gains in girth and they’re great, but what I’m really after is length gains, so had a few questions about that.
1) Where do I grab the penis when doing the stretching? I read the newbie theory thread in here but it didnt address this. Most websites say to grab it 1” below the glans, but when I do this the skin just slides forward up the shaft and over the glans (so that I look uncut), I’m not grabbing any “internals”. The only place I seem to get an anchor/grip is if I can hold onto the ridge at the bottom of the glans or squeeze the tip hard enough to get a grip, but even then I feel like it slides off when I pull really hard, and the ridge/bottom of my glans is getting sore and chaffed.
I feel like the lack of grip is preventing me from really getting in a good stretch. Also most websites say not to hold onto the glans or I can injure it. Any tips?
2). Does jelqing really add length, or is it mostly for girth? I feel like I’ve really noticed an increase in girth, but not much in length (and what little I’ve noticed may have all come from stretches), and the jelqiing moton seems well suited for girth but not length.
3.) If the answer to 2 is that jelqiing is really for girth, and because what I’m really after is length, should I add a device like an autoextender? Or some more advanced/extra streches? Or would you recommend I finish the newbie routine and after 4-6m I look to switch to a device or more advanced routine?
