Anyone have a hernia once and still get gains

I was wondering if anyone got length gains after having a hernia once in their life. Just curious because I’m sure I’m just being neurotic and shit but I had one when I was born, so that’s almost 21 years ago. I know I’ve had more than enough time to heal 10 times over. However when it comes to the stretching exercise I can’t help but to worry just a little. And I’m not an idiot if I felt pain I’d stop but I was just curious if there was someone on this board who has had a hernia, recovered and got gains.

I almost had a hernia a few months back. There was a small hole. The doc told me to do nothing for six weeks. I still get some pain periodically. I wonder if some of these exercises loosen up the muscles in that area and increase the chances of getting one. But I keep doing it anyway.

Dang dude I never thought of that. I had a hernia when I was 9.

I have a hernia in my lower left groin. Its a permanent bulge that looks like I have a big fat pad on my left side. I’ve had it since 1991 and am too lazy to get it fixed. I’ve been pumping for 8 years and hanging for a few. It doesn’t seem to make any difference. I am always cautious, but I even lift weights at the gym. I just don’t do anything overly stressful.
