Bottom half of penis - Same color as scrotum

Alright, this is a little gross, but I have to ask, since I’ve got nowhere else to turn.

I’m 20. P.E. Is going well, and I have to stress that this is NOT a problem caused by the P.E. - My penis has always had this, even before I started any P.E. I’m just putting this disclaimer here to make sure I don’t scare any new P.E.ers.

Anyway, my penis (only 5.1 inches, but that’s up from the 4.9 I started with, so I’m making progress since I started up seriously again a month ago) is circumcised. I’m a Caucasian male with relatively light skin. The top-end half of my penis (the half closest to the end of it) looks like.well, a penis, the same as I’ve seen in any other pictures. About half my penis is like this.

The other half (the bottom half) is the EXACT SAME COLOR/TEXTURE as my scrotum, though! It grows hair, which I have to shave in order to properly do P.E.. I think it looks really gross flaccid, although it becomes slightly (only slightly, though) less noticeable erect. You literally can’t see any change in color/texture/hair growth between this section of my penis and my scrotum!

The small amount of growth I’ve gotten has been to this section of my penis, and I suspect that any further P.E. Gains will be gains in this hairy, scrotum-colored bottom half of my penis (it makes sense, there’s no real reason the tip of my penis would be the part to grow, I guess).

Is this something that can be taken care of in any way? Laser hair removal? ‘Shedding the Snake’ salicylic-acid-burning like in that one topic?

If I was too unclear on what my issue is, I’ll try to take a picture soon if possible.

Acid burning won’t change anything if your penis has always been like that.

Everyone’s choice of hair removal is up to them. I use to shave because it was fast, but I like tweezing better now.

What is tweezing? Is it like, removing the hairs one by one? That sounds weird to be honest.

I shaved last week but it took about 6 days to get rid of the itching, very, very annoying!

Mine has always been a significantly darker color than the rest of my body. My skin is lily white except for the penis (dark) and the scrotum (darker). As it gets toward the glans it does get lighter, and the glans itself is sort of darker again but more the color that my lips are. Weird right? Nope. I’ve only receive compliments on it.

It’s also common to have some errant hairs growing on the shaft - and more of them as you get toward the base. I don’t know how severe this is on you. On me it’s just the last .25" or so where it starts to get really hairy - almost to the same extent that the rest of the pubic region is.

Pubic hair is part of the design; it reduces friction during the fun stuff.

What I’m saying is, I think you’re normal.

Now I haven’t seen your dick, so you may have more so than what is typical. I don’t know. We’ll be looking for that picture (again: not in this forum - it goes in Member Pics). Be aware that porn folk shave, wax, and laser the area; they also do tanning and wear make-up (yes, make-up on their dick), so if that’s what you’re going by it may not be reality. It may be Hollywood.

In any event, you could potentially get laser treatment. I’m sure weirder shit has been done. Valley-girls getting the anuses laser-ed springs to mind, I don’t know why (Ok, I do know why, but never mind). Depending on your situation, and how OCD you are about it, you’d only have to go and suffer any potential embarrassment a few times and then you’d be done.

Or you could get a home electrolysis kit (ow), or an intimate shaver (here’s one ).

Salicylic Acid is used in most acne creams at about 2% strength. It is a gentle exfoliant, but it will not remove hair. It will soften hair that you are attempting to shave, though. I use Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash in lieu of shaving cream for the area. I put a little bit on down there, wash my face for a couple of minutes and then shave. The acid is mild enough not to irritate the skin, but softens the hair and discourages regrowth a bit. It works well for me. I also use the stuff on my face.

It looks like your scrotum underneath because that’s exactly what it is. Because of your circumcision, scrotal skin was drawn up the shaft as you developed your adult sized penis. This is extremely common among cut guys, and even some intact guys display a degree of scrotal webbing (or “turkey neck”).

Fixing the “problem” would require growing additional shaft skin, possibly allowing the scrotum to settle downward to a more normal position. Growing the skin is accomplished by foreskin restoration techniques. Some men who have successfully restored have claimed significant improvement in their scrotal webbing. Like PE, restoration is a long term process. You’ll find lots of information with a Google search.

I’m cut, myself, and do not have that issue (assuming that’s what it is - I guess we’ll have to wait for the picture to be sure).

Since this is a consideration, why do you think some are more prone to it than others? Any thoughts?

It’s probably nothing much more than dumb luck, or lack of it. When circumcising an infant, there’s no way to know what the little guy’s adult endowment will be. Consider too that often the routine sorts of procedures in hospitals are passed off to interns who may be doing their first-ever circumcision. You never know if they might want to impress the boss by doing a thorough job of it.

Years ago I read on a restoration forum that the average man cut as an infant probably lost an area of skin equivalent to a 3x5 note card. It’s going to vary a lot for a variety of reasons, but the normal loss is significant indeed.
