BPFSL Longer When Sitting VS Standing

BPFSL Longer When Sitting VS Standing

Probably a stupid question, but figured I’d ask anyway. I noticed my BPFSL when sitting is longer than when standing. Is this normal? Is it indicative of anything?

It shouldn’t be, since stretching is supposed to help equalize factors. But most definitely non-stretched lengths will vary.

Your hip angle will play a role in how long it looks sitting or standing. Same with fat pad if it’s on the larger side.

2011 BPEL 5.65 MSEG 4.125

2021 7 5/8 X 5 3/8

Goal: Just keep on trucking

How much difference are you measuring?

Initial: 7” BPEL; 6” NBPEL; 5.25” - 5.5” MEG

Current: 7-7/8” BPEL; 7-3/8” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.

It’s actually the inclination of the pelvis.

As we sit down, the pelvis rotates bringing the lower parts forwards.

The caveat to this is if you have a fixed spine for some reason. In this case, rotation is reduced or absent.

Therefore always measure in the same way in the danger position to reduced variation.

The difference is about 0.3 inches. Doesn’t seem like a lot, but it makes me feel good to see it my BPFSL approaching 8” so quickly, haha.
