Changing Up Stretcher Routine to Extend Gain Time?

Question and I am hoping someone here thinks a bit twisted like me.

I keep seeing that stretchers are good for 1,500/2,000 hours then gains are pretty much useless after that from a stretcher.
Question is, is it possible to continue seeing gains (maybe an extra 1,000 hours worth) if you varied the routines from say a Phallosan/Lingam belt type extender and a rod type extender? I know they a similar but they are different.. Kinda like barbell vs dumb bell workouts.
