Clamping from which side

I hope this question is understandable and simple to answer: When you put the cable clamp on, do you clamp the sides together (left and right of the penis) or bottom and top? Both seem to work fine for me….

At one time the concensus was to orient the clamp so it pinched the cavernosa on the sides. But I’ve used it the other way without any noticeable difference.

To the best of my recollection the reason for squeezing the sides was to avoid damaging the nerves that run along the top of the shaft

I have the hinge on the top (dorsal) side when I clamp.

This is interesting - I’ve always automatically put it on bottom and top? I never even thought of putting it on the left and right (I don’t know why, lol). But bottom and top works really well for me, so I’ll probably stick with it.

I smash the sides with the hinge at the bottom. Less skin to get pinched on top.
