Tomico, samus318 has it right. Some find it difficult to get erect enough for jelqing if they jerk off before exercises. Doing it after isn’t a problem. Others will tell you that it limits gains or some such nonsense, but it isn’t true. It is true that the penis will shrink after ejaculation, but that won’t affect any gains you may have made.

I think this is true, as a newbie I still cannot control my urges about masturbating before or after the PEing. But today I did jack off before PE and I find it hard to perform the jelq properly. I don’t know I might be wrong but I’ll try to observe it to give this thread some new insight

Blood is what holds all the nutrients our body needs to heal.

Part of why vasodialators are so “big” in body building is because they thin the blood enough to get the nutrients to more muscle tissue than it would normally.

The question of whether it is OK to masturbate immediately after a workout may need to be answered personally. Some people do not feel comfortable jacking-off after a workout, others may feel it’s fine. The safest thing to do is to trust your body, your own senses. If your penis is weak after a workout, and doesn’t feel up for it, just don’t do it – or vice versa.

CR beat me to it. Bodybuilding is one thing I do know and blood supplies the nutrients for your body.

Hello I hate to bump an old thread but I was reading a lot of threads on this subject (ejaculating after workout) including the ‘PE Survey results’ thread and I wonder if someone could elaborate on what Chest Rockwell said in this post, as I am concerned about ejaculating after workout and whether it will affect gains.

There is no answer to this question, only a myriad of theories.

My personal theory is; yes, ejacualting after PE slows your gains. My reasons for thinking this are 1) the relatively widespread belief that it is a good idea to keep your penis in an elongated / engorged state for as long as you can so that it will heal that way (this is why ADS is so helpful), 2) ejuacualtion causes chemical changes in the body and bloodstream ( <— this is fact) that cause you to shrink and go flacid, and, on a related note, lessen the bloodflow to the penis ( <— this part is just thery) which carries nutrients etc. that are necessary for the healing process, 3) ejaculation is stressful on the body and requires a lot of nutrients / protein to replace the semenal fluids, which is part of why the bloodflow to the penis lessens and the bloodflow to the testicles increases.

But hey, its all theory. People have gained both way. Just do whatever you want and if you are gaining keep doing it, if you are not then try something new.

Ejaculation puts additional strain on your penis. This might be over training for some people. I think it’s best not to cum and save it for sex. You just tortured your penis with jelqs twists bends, clamping, hanging or what not. It needs a break! Cumming will push it farther into exhaustion.

OK but my penis returns to its flaccid state anyway after a few minutes so what is the difference? Is there something unobservable?

OK but if I am not stimulating my penis with my hand it also goes flaccid. So am I supposed to keep it hard or semi-hard for hours after finishing jelqing or something?

I don’t understand. I thought the amount of protein and nutrients required to replace semen was small. Wouldn’t that mean that working out reduces the enlargement process too because that also requires nutrients and protein for muscle recovery?

All we can do here is refer to our own experience. In mine, I have a sensitive penis in regards to stress from P.E.

- If I am to maintain an optimal workout to recovery rate, I cannot masturbate.

- The extra stress on my penis from wanking builds up which means I have increasing levels of negative PI’s

- So by the time it comes to have days off, there is not a full recovery for when I begin my next weekly cycle.

- Even if I were to just masturbate the first 2 days of a workout cycle this was enough to push my penis over the threshold and just my normal routine continued would not allow proper recovery.

- I am on a 5 on/2 off at the moment. When masturbating, this would often change to a 4/3, still without full recovery. Also, when I was on a 2 on/1 off, 3 on/1 off, the same rules applied and often the 3/1 would become 2/2.

- Ultimately it disrupts my cycle due to having to take unexpected days off, which hinders gains.

By negative PI’s, I am referring to:

- A firm, shriveled, flaccid penis.
- No morning wood
- Decreased EQ, sometimes to the point of not being able to achieve erection.
- Shortening of BPFSL

This is just my experience and what I have observed for me. I would assume there are different reactions for different people and one should observe and adapt ones behavior for their individual circumstance.

Don’t ejaculate often. According to surveys, ejaculation does affect gains. (You gain, but you gain less vs those who ejaculate less or not at all) Masturbate and ejaculate a few times or less per week. Once a week perhaps. Ejaculation really does drain you. If you have the urge to ejaculate, transfer that sexual energy and do something else productive like exercise.
