Do You Need Devices After Basics?

After I am done with the beginner routine do you need pumps or extenders to increase in size? Or is there exercises you can do without devices and still make gains?


Start: BPEL: 6’ MEG:4.5’

Now: BPEL:6.5’ MEG:5’

Goal: BPEL:7.5’ MEG: 6’

Long answer short no you don’t but it’s up to you. Have you stopped gaining? If so and you feel conditioned you can either ramp it up or introduce a device but it’s definitely not necessary.

No I am doing the begginer routines this is my second week haven’t measured any gains yet. I am just wondering since I do not really want to spend a lot of money on devices and I would not want anybody In the house to find devices

It is possible to generate enough force to make big long term gains over an entire PE career using only your hands. As you progress, you can learn to replicate clamping, hanging, and extending. The only thing you can’t mimic is pumping. Of course this requires incredible hand strength and endurance.

A cheap, stealthy, and very effective device is the cable clamp. Glue some neoprene to the sides to make it more comfortable and amplify the effect.

Devices facilitates the job, in some cases, by replacing the work from the hands, but aren’t necessary as you go by.

Elcompapiton, you’ve got a long way to go 2 weeks is nothing so don’t worry about spending hard earned money on devices. In 2 more weeks if you’ve been consistent in your routine take a look and see if you’ve gained anything if not don’t be disappointed because a month is also nothing. As time goes you can use simple house hold items for assistance in PE, like a round tube or pipe to stretch over or a $2 clamp for Home Depot. But right now that stuff is a long ways a way for you. Just keep up what your doing and as you feel more conditioned you can add more stretches or more jelqs. When I first started PE about 9 years ago all I did was basic stretching, jelqing and lots of edging. Back then I didn’t find this place and I didn’t have a real routine but I gained anyway probably due to better blood flow. I wish now that I had found this place and continued only using my hands and that I had never stopped PE.

Elcompapiton, my advice is to see how far you can take it manually. I’m still seeing gains and actually feel like I’m doing a better job of it as I improve my technique.
