FYI, You can pull the equivalent of about 5 pounds with just your hand.
I just did a test with my new luggage scale. I did some manual stretches with the reverse OK grip then did my best to replicate the feel of that amount of stretch with my hangar and scale. I estimate a manual pull strong enough to lose your grip is about 5 or 6 pounds. I’m sure some of you have really strong hands, maybe you could pull more. Some a little less. I’d say my grip is probably average.
That’s about what you’re doing anyway, by my best guess. So when the time comes you want to start hanging, use about 5 pounds as your starting maximum. No more than that. You’ve probably already been doing about that much. Go from there.
