Holding for too long

Can you keep a hold for too long? I hear of people really going at it and not getting fresh blood into the glands. I was under the impression that if you kept a hold for too long you would risk discoloration. Any thoughts?

I would agree with you on that one. Now exactly what are you holding?

If you’re squeezing below the head to tightly, I wouldn’t do that beyond 10minutes. I doubt you could even hold a stretch that long. But when doing manual stretches let go every 5minutes to get some fresh blood in. Mostly people do it for like 20-30 seconds then change angle of stretch.
