Who makes inexpensive but effective weighs?

You make the cheapest ones. Containers full of water will work. Water weighs about 8.3 lbs. per gallon. Dino hung using a boot with coins in it. Dump in your spare change every day to gradually increase the weight. Pretty clever.

Other than that, try Wal-Mart or any sporting goods store.

If you’re lucky you’ll find a place selling 1.25 lb. plates. They aren’t easy to come by. With one of each: 1.25, 2.5, 5 and 10, you’ll be able to hang in 1.25 lb. increments from 1.25 lbs. to 18.75 lbs.

Plates should cost $.50 a lb. or less.
