Insecure when younger that dick was too BIG?

I remember when I was about 15 that I was insecure that my dick was too big. On me, it looked big compared to my skinny 15 year old body and I felt like a girl would be horrified by it (turned out not to be a problem in the end because I never met any chicks and still haven’t). It was 6.5 NBPEL and quite fat. That was back in 2005 before I knew what the average was or assumed people exaggerated wildly.

I remember me and my friend were together we were in my friend’s bendroom at school and we both had erections so we compared dicks (I know, a bit gay). My friend had a verified 8.5NBPEL and when we compared, mine was a bit shorter because it was bent (as my friend observed) but even up against my friend’s longer dick, my dick still looked big.

This made me somewhat worried about ever “using it in battle” when I was younger and compounded my shyness with those of a female persuasion. I never knew it was a good thing to have a “big” dick back then and assumed I was a freak that it wasn’t more in proportion with my skinny teenage body.

Unfortunately, no. No big dick embarrassment for me as a teenager.

When you enter high school and must undress for gym for the first time, anything that is seen as not “average” is likely to cause embarrassment. I remember thinking that my pubic hair was too long so gave it a little trim. Of course, no one even cared and so I never trimmed it again. As for size, I was not remarkable either way so it never became an issue.

Oh, it was the opposite for me..

My crippling anxiety also made me turtle to a legit pinky finger. I avoided public showers until now - at 30. My new confidence after discovering PE and seeing my penis in a different way makes it effortless showering in public. On the contrary, I’m proud of my body and my dick. Feels good :-)

My experience has been very similar to bodybuilder1’s. Public showers and locker rooms were my worst nightmare. PE has really changed the way I view myself, and my newly emerging confidence (and size) has been a great counter to anxiety.

As a grower, I can relate to that as well. It always felt like my dick was only temporarily big when I had an erection, but after it would shrivel right up again.

I never really thought it was big. I am a grower and it always looked small compared to my 6’2” body. Back then I was a built 200lbs compared to almost 300lbs now. In one of my early sexual encounters I was with a more experienced woman who told me it was big but I never believed that. It’s tough because my brain knows the data and numbers but my mind (Ego?) doesn’t want to believe it.

Surely an egotistical person would think they’re dick WAS big? I don’t follow.

But in my case as a teenager, I wanted a smaller cock because it looked freakishly big.

Maybe ego wasn’t the right word to use. I know the data, the numbers, the averages etc. Despite knowing that I’m above average numbers I don’t see myself that way. They way my brain sees my body doesnt match data.

Long story short is that I probably have some type of body dysmorphic disorder. In the same way an anorexic person sees themselves as overweight I see my body as below standard.

What a problem to have! :-) I know my first sex partner (even though she was experienced) went “wow” when she saw my dick. No insecurity here, I was all for it and I actually was quite a conceited and cocksure (literally :-D) young adult. I had prepared myself for the moment for a while and wanted it to be special. It was also with a very special person and we had amazing sex for many, many years when the occasion arose.
