Is U-grip as effective as OK-grip?

Hello. Happy spring to everyone.

I’ve been jelqing lately, Newbie Routine, and have so far experienced some improved EQ; indeed at times it seems that my EQ is “through the roof.”

But I was wondering, regarding jelqing:

Is a U-grip good enough, as opposed to a standard OK-grip? Because I find that when I use an OK-grip I build up too much pressure up around the head, but with a U-grip I can do more reps. In this sense my fingers are acting more like jelq-sticks, touching the CC’s but not the dorsum. Also, I have a big vein on the dorsum which I don’t wish to irritate.

Also, I know there have been umpteen discussions about the strength of the grip, but how much force should I apply? I want to hear some fresh opinions on this matter.

It’s the pressure build up generated by the OK grip that makes it so effective. Perhaps you could just use slightly shorter jelq strokes and start releasing before the head. But for me, unless you are breaking all sorts of capillaries in your head, the pressure build up you describe is the indicator of a perfect jelq technique.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Aha. I see.

Today went better; I was able to use the OK grip with a moderate strength and it didn’t feel funny at all. Maybe it was because I did it as soon as I got up, rather than after supper or something. I think after supper is the worst time to do it, for many reasons, but it was the only time I had to do it.

You shouldn’t jelq with a strong grip ! Use very light to moderate grips !!

Just experiment with them !

"You” grip adds more pressure than the OK grip. Lighter grip is the key here, and attention to detail. You can get fully engorged rather quick. "You” grip is my primary grip.

Didn’t I read somewhere that you use a kind of V-grip with your pointer and ring fingers, like a peace-sign? That sounds interesting.

I mean if you use stronger grip doesn’t it mean you’re gonna grow faster since it’s tearing the muscle more?

I used really strong grip for one month and I gained nothing in girth. I didn’t measure though, but I am sure. Listen to Kingpole, really don’t use stronger than medium grip, better go light guys !

I wonder why that is.

It seems like there’s a threshold, where if you use too much force your penis starts reacting badly. I guess this is a pretty obvious statement. It’s interesting that at a certain force you gain, and too much is overtraining. I guess I’m Captain Obvious today.

Yes that I the “you” grip, and you jelq the underside of the penis. From the base to just below the glans. You can keep an OK grip around the base. Then form the “you” grip and slowly bring up the shaft.
