Jelqing questions

Hi all, I’ve read the required reading on this site and watched the videos. I’m having some trouble with jelqing and have some questions. I just want to make sure I’ve got it completely right so I’m not wasting my time.

So when wet jelqing with a semi erect penis, I’ve found that unless I hold the base in place in my other hand, my jelqing hand just moves the outer layer of skin along the shaft to the tip of my penis, so effectively my hand doesn’t actually move relative to the skin. Is that technique correct?

Also, how important is it to maintain a constant level of erection? I generally watch porn while jelqing to keep a semi on, since jelqing itself doesn’t feel particularly stimulating. This means that my erection level will fluctuate as I jelq.

Are uncut (not circumcised)? If uncut, I have heard doing jells dry are more beneficial since the extra skin acts as lube in a way.

Potentially you need more or better lube but your hand should move over the skin. There’s no problem with it not moving over the skin at the start of the stroke, the only time you need to move over the skin is when you hit the point at which the skin is tight at the base. The point of jelqing is to affect the shaft under the skin, so you need to be thinking of that but skin management also comes into it. I always used to attach a new grip up the shaft and pull the skin back to the base, before tightening the grip for the stroke. If done well you can be doing this as your are finishing off the previous stroke.

Erections vary. You may sometimes need to pause your jelqing for a while to masturbate a little and regain a better erection. Switching from a standard grip to an overhand grip as the erection fades may help.

Thanks for the advice man, will bear it in mind. My foreskin is a little strange, if I pull my skin back a little (I.e. Towards my body) I can actually do a complete jelq along the length of the shaft without my grip moving over the skin and without running out of skin.

Then you might find dry jelqing works for you but try to hold a kegel between strokes. Wet jelqing has the advantage of allowing the grip of the second hand to be set before the first hand has finished the stroke, trapping in more blood. Holding a kegel can help to simulate that with dry jelqing. If you are considering dry jelqing, check out the c-grip in the video.

I would add if your choice will be dry jelqs to do less of them. As a rule of the thumb, 1 dry jelq = 4 wet jelqs (for me, of course. I’m uncut too).
