Make sure you buy Cable Clamps and not Cable Cuffs
Hello all,
Today while shopping for some new PE supplies I stumbled upon clamps called “Cable Cuff” in Home Depot. And at first sight I was like “Oh shit, Cable Clamps! Nice!” But then took a closer look and realized that the brand name was “Cable Cuff”. And to the untrained eye most might look and think that both brands of clamps are exactly alike. But not me, while checking these out I noticed that the “Cable Cuff” is a different shape when clicked partially and all the way in. This is bad for those seeking an almost perfect hold that you get with the “Cable Clamp”, screw part down. So for all of you guys who buy clamps make sure you don’t mistakenly pick these up as the awkward shape of the “Cable Cuff” might put bad pressure along the top side of your unit.
P.S. I also noticed that the “Cable Cuff” had the same logo used for the “C” and the bright orange and regular red and white color’s “Cable Clamp” uses. But their not the same.
So to play it safe and have no worries about which clamps are what. I know for sure that when I buy “Cable Clamps” I pick them up at Wal Mart. They definitely carry the correct brand name “Cable Clamps” with the almost perfect shape for our Cack’s.
Take care,
MrC
