Measuring Girth.

So all this time I’ve been measuring my girth by wrapping a piece of string around my shaft, and then measuring the string. This has always provided a consistent result of around 6 inches +/- a notch.
However, I went and bought a tape ruler today and tried measuring my penis with that instead. When I used the tape ruler, I got fluctuations from 5.5-5.9 inches.
Am I measuring something wrong? What is the better way to measure my girth?
It is worth noting, however, that whenever I use a string, it’s always easy, and I get a consistent result.
When I use a tape rule (it’s a metal one, I was unable to find the plastic ones.) It’s clumsy, hard for me to wrap it around my penis (probably because its metal) and provides almost always a different result each time.

Thoughts?

I’d studiously avoid the metal tape. They’re not intended to bend like that and I’d be terrified of getting cut. If you’re not sure about using the string, you could make a temporary “tape” with a strip of paper marked in inches or centimeters and measure with that.

I bought a very cheap cloth measure tape for this purpose.

Flexible but resistant, usually comes with both systems (metric and inches).

It’s really reliable and I can tighten the most to avoid any false milimetter increase, reading just ‘in-shaft’.

How tight should I pull? Depending on how tight I pull I have increase or decrease an inch. :s

Ack, this is actually fairly hard. My erection starts fading as soon as I start measuring.

Using a thin nylon string, I fluctuate between 6-5.75

I’m going to assume I’m 5.75 then.

Girth is something really tricky, and in my experience, you can get significantly different measurements if you do anything just slightly different. That is where I think the tp test can come in handy. I use always be around 5.5 because I left my finger be the mark instead of actually marking it with a pen. Other variables include when you use paper, string, measuring tape etc. I was pretty sad to find out that I am more like 5.25. I fit somewhat cozy in a 5.5 inch roll (with the head kind of squished). I liked to think I was 5.5+ but I knew if I could get it in that roll, it was not correct. I suspect if other people took the time to play around with measuring techniques like you or I, they would find that their girth can fluctuate (often for the worse) when being truthful.

Yeah. I think I wont really measure girth until I can find a way to clamp my penis so it’s at 95%+ erection.

You should just grab one of those plastic/nylon tailor’s measuring tape, it makes it very easy to just wrap around and get a good measurement. No metal end like a regular measuring tape

Yeah! I think it is this one you mentioned that I really meant, but I didn’t know its name :) . (Is that the usual name?)
IMHO, there is no better option than that (including the economic point of view).

Fenix, maybe the best option is to steal one from your local Tuxedo Junction? Just maybe?

Just go to walmart and buy a cloth measuring tape I bought one for less than $2 its safe and easy to use.

They’re located in the fabric department.

I use a tape measure that your measure your waist with.

If you really want to stick to rulers and not try the string method I suggest getting a plastic one used for measuring fabrics. They work perfectly and you can get them at wal-mart or any fabric store.
