Measuring girth

For some reason when I measure my girth with a string, I get a measurement that is 0.25” bigger then when I measure using one of those flexible tape measures. Is either one of these methods more accurate? Am I not pulling the string tight enough or something?

Thanks

Are you sure you are measuring at the exact same spot and with the exact same level of erection?

If so, you may be pulling the tape too tight or the string too loose.

Have you tried measuring the tape measure with the ruler to make sure they are in sync?

Yes, it is important to choose a specific point, which is usually midshaft, and be consistent with your measuring!

Also, if you measured girth right after a workout, especially a girth workout, then there will be a discrepancy between your “normal” girth you usually have, and your post-workout girth, which is usually more girth than normal conditions!

Good point, 6gofor10. I forgot to mention that.

I’ve found that measuring right before my first workout after my rest days gives the most consistent measurements.

Hey,

Thanks for the ideas guys! The only problem is that I have taken everything into consideration. I always measure after days of rest, at the same place, and I have tested the measuring tape with the ruler. I guess neither of you have this problem? I guess I’ll keep measuring with the string since it gives a bigger measurement.

Thanks again :)

I get similar results, and I think the diameter of the string may have something to do with it.

I measure with a string that’s roughly an eigth of an inch in diameter. When I use it to measure my dick girth, I get a eigth to quarter inch more circumference than when I measure with a thin flexible measuring tape. I just tried measuring a glass jar and got a similar result. I’m doing the method where you wrap the string around, mark a line across where the two ends overlap, and then flatten it out and measure the distance in between the marks.

I can’t figure out why the two measurements would differ. I always assume my inabililty to grock such things is probably the result of the chemical lobotomy I gave myself back when I should have been taking math classes.

It’s bit early in the morning for my brain to be working, but I think that the measurement with string would be the centre of the string. Try measuring with cotton, or a strip of paper, then try again with a piece of rope or something. I’m fairly sure that the thicker the measuring medium the greater the measurement will result.

I agree. Try a thinner string.

Yeah I get this too. If you use a piece of string the measurement that you’ll end up with will be the circumference of your penis *plus* the added girth to your circumference that the thickness of the string provides. If you’ve got a proper tape measure just use that.

Goddamit! I guess I’m smaller than I thought. I’m sure it is the diameter of the string (I don’t think it’s a whole 0.25” though). I’ll try that idea with the paper. Thanks for all the good ideas everyone :)

Use a piece of *@%&#% dental floss!

6/1/03: 7.5" BPEL X 5.75" EG as measured midshaft with a snapped chalk line....

When I use a tape measure, I’m 6” around. A piece of dental floss tells me I’m 5.8” around.

OK board

The CORRECT way to measure girth is to use a string.

Yes, you get a different measure with a tape measure.

As long as you are using a regular string, the diameter of the string will make no
difference.

One can use a tape measure too,but it is inaccurate, and lord knows if I know why.

Even offical sites say use a string.

So, use a string.

Phat,

Thanks. I noticed from the git go that there is a substantial difference between a tape and a string. Going by the tape, I’m 6”, but using my dental floss with the strategically-tied knots (so it’s easier to read), I’m 5.8”.

Added girth by using thicker string

=2*half of width of string*3.14

=width of string*pi

size DOES matter! ;)
