My Own Circumcision...Confused??

My Own Circumcision...Confused??

Hi Guys,

I have just started learning about circumcision and was curious about my own, from what I understand the frenulum is often removed but mine is fully intact I also have the “ridged band” of skin just under the glans and can quite comfortably pull that skin over the glans it seems most of my unit is intact I got cut in the early 80’s was there diffrent procedures back then what kind of circumcision do I have?? Is there mini circumcision’s?

Thanks

This is not my area of expertise, but it kind of like haircuts. Everyone can get it individualized, but most are the “little off the top standard”. So being cut can be done differently depending on what was ordered and the skill of the cutter and what he is good at. Nothing to be too crazed about, but you should be fine.

I know Lewd Ferrigno personally.

You have the Aussie cut. ;) I think physicians in countries where circumcision is not routine (like it is here in the good ol’ US of A) have a better understanding of the functions of the foreskin and when they must do a circ, they take off only enough to solve the problem (usually phimosis). Here, newborns just have the whole thing removed, sometimes so much is gone that the circ scar is halfway down the shaft when they fully mature. Sad.

Personally I think it is cool to be circumcised. An uncut dick looks like an umbilical cord is hanging there. Then, I heard that there is extra cleaning which must be done with a foreskin.

So what the heck. When a baby boy is born, a little snip here and a little snip there and you are ready for the world. They never know the difference.

It still needs work though even flacid my glans isn’t covered so slowly my glans is losing sensitivity. Hopefully with my cut FR will not take as long I will be satisfied with at least half coverage.

westla I just seen some of you’re old post’s regarding FR, seems you got good results with t-tape??

Yes. I believe it’s the easiest, least messy, least irritating way to go. It is a pain to have to change the tape every few days, but I was able to keep mine on through two showers (usually). I restored off and on for a couple years and now have about 1/2 to 2/3 flaccid coverage (depends on the day) and my glans, at least the corona which is continually covered, is nice and shiny again.

westla I admit the more I learn it’s actually becoming quite depressing ;( …i’m also wondering now that you’re glans is mostly covered have you started producing smegma again? On further researching I actually don’t think I have the ridged band of skin I was initially thinking it was just the raised excess skin below the glans that kind of klumps together there is quite alot of conflicting info on the many foreskin sites.

I have a similar cut and got it done here in the US.

I can pull my skin over my dick head and it isn’t very tight.

Perhaps I am one of the lucky ones?

Being depressed won’t return any skin. All you can do now is work at replacing what was lost.

I suppose I do produce some smegma. The covered area is slightly moist most of the time, but because I no longer have a ridged band the glans is not always covered. Depending on what clothes I wear and how much I move around in them, the area can be wiped dry several times a day. I’m sure I have some smegma producing glands left. They do decrease with age.

The ridged band has an unfortunate name because when an intact foreskin is retracted it’s difficult to tell the ridged band from the folds of the retracted foreskin. One of the major anti-circumcision sites is Circumcision Information and Research Pages (CIRP ). It has a wealth of information on its restoration page, including a special section on the ridged band . The anatomy page also discusses it.

You’re starting out way ahead of most of us who have or are restoring. Feel free to ask questions as you begin your FR journey.

Hello everyone, Tyler the ridged band is located at the very tip of the penis where the outer and inner forskin meet, so any type of circ would remove this band, NORM (national organization of restoring men) also has some good information and can be found here Home Page - National Organization of Restoring Men
