I’ve never gotten any gains I could attribute to high force stretching or manual stretching.
I’ve made a lot of progress using low force methods like light pumping at 5 inHg for 20 minutes every other day and a light weight .5lbs. hanger sporadically.
I think that there is a window of force that is productive for gains, while exceeding it is counter productive.
If you exert too much force on connective tissue in other parts of the body, you get something called contracture. I don’t see why that wouldn’t be the case in PE as well and my past experience seems to indicate that it does occur.

It would be difficult to measure the amount of force exerted when doing manual stretches, terms like "medium force" don’t have a reference point. It’s a similar problem with extenders, which while they can have calibrated springs, can’t accurately tell you how much force you’re using. Springs deform over time, so any calibration markings would lose their accuracy, and I doubt the ones used in extenders are calibrated in the first place, at least they weren’t in the one I bought.
That’s why I like hanging, there’s a set amount of force a hanger can exert at max, which opens the door to finding the ideal parameters and convey it to another person.
