Overtraining From The Newbie Routine

I think the newbie routine is causing me to overtrain.

I started the newbie routine this week and I follow it step by step, but I have been experiencing some negative PI’s. After the first session the next morning when I woke up I had much weaker morning wood and I turtle after every jelqing session.

I think that I need to take a few steps back and start with less volume, but I would like some advice from people with more experience.

I plan on keeping the warming up/down and the stretching as part of my routine, but I don’t know how much jelqing I should do. I’ve seen posts where people initially start with 40 jelqs and then add 10 every session or where people start with 5 minutes and add a minute every week. Also, should I continue doing 2 days on and 1 day off or change to 1 day on and one day off.

If it’s needed the stretches I do are 5 minutes of 30 seconds in all 4 directions and straight out.

10 minutes. I didn’t count the exact amount though.

Well if you feel that’s too much cut it down to 5 minutes and work your way up when you feel the need to increase. Just use common sense and take it easy; gentle and slow.

Alright I’ll try that! Do you think I should stick to 2 days on and one day off or change from that too?

That’s fine. Just take your time in working up to things. I know new guys get enthused about all this stuff but I wasn’t doing a full routine when I started for 2 months.

Hi,
I also felt like this, i wasn’t seeing any gains ans experienced a bit of pain. After a break I started with 10 jelqs everyother day, the next week 20, then 30 + 30 seconds straight out stretch, next week 40 jelqs +30 seconds straight out stretch +30 seconds downwards stretch and so on.

Add 10 jelqs and a 30 second stretch every week basically.
Nothing but positive PI’s since.


Current BPEL - 6.1 Inches

Goal BPEL - 7 1/2 inches

Girth is of no issue at the moment, one goal at a time!
