Pain at the base

Pain at the base

Earlier when I was doing my manual downward stretches, I felt a sharp pain on the left side of the base. I massaged the area and I could feel what I guess is a ligament that runs on the left side of the shaft. It felt tight and hard, and a lot more evident than the right one. I finished doing my stretches but a little lighter than usual. Interesting enough, this is on the same side as my curve. I also experience lig pops on this same side in the same area when I jelq. Anyone else experienced this? What did you do?

noc12,

First of all welcome to Thunder’s Place. I think what you are feeling on that side is your lymph vessel. I have found out that over time, they will give with your stretching and grow with your length. My advise it to take it easy on it and don’t over stretch it. With me, when ever I do stretch, I get them (one on both sides) taught and that is it. Don’t stretch to hard. I have had a ligament (I think it was one) to pop on the right side and sort of ball up and feel like string towards my glands.

Just take it easy and you won’t have a problem. All of this takes time to do and having patience is the key.

Good luck to you.

Thanks! I’m going to rest tomorrow. I think I have been putting a little too much tension on myself when I stretch.

nocj12, have you considered getting a light all day stretcher?

Maybe Monty’s peweights would be the thing for you. Wearing 1-2 lbs. for a few hours a day ought to loosen those pesky tissues. This way, you could lightly stretch and then put the weights on to hold your tissues pulled out for a few hours more. Find ‘em at peweights.com (I also have pics in the member’s pics forum with my TheraP wrap holding them on. Good luck.

I’m starting to feel that it is indeed my ligament that might be slightly strained. I did a search and found this:

Strained ligaments- Strained ligaments at the base of the penis can occur from hanging/stretching too often and intensely without enough rest, or can occur from a single incident of excessively intense hanging/stretching. Most of the pain felt from strained ligaments can be felt at the base of the penis, and may extend to the interior of the pubis and even as far as the lower abdomen. Lots of rest is required for strained ligaments.. And it's of the utmost importance! Doing PE with strained ligaments can lead to actual tearing of the ligaments, which may require surgery.

I feel a slight uncomfortable feeling in my lower abdomen but I just thought this was from being new to the exercises. I saw a diagram of penis ligaments earlier but I can’t seem to find it now. What hurts is a tight cord like object that runs from my pelvic area down through my shaft on the left side. It’s real easy to find on that side, but is less noticeable on the right side. Are these ligaments??

After I felt the sharp pain while performing my first stretch this morning, I continued stretching but with less intensity and I didn’t feel the sharp pain again. I then did 200 jelqs and I didn’t feel it then either. Now, I just feel slight pressure around that area and very minimal amount of pain.

Can someone tell me why I’ve read people saying that it’s a good thing when they hear a “pop” in the ligs during stretching. I’ve read that it can be a good thing, meaning the ligs are giving way.

Bpel 7" Eg 5.5" - Start Aug 25 2005 Bpel 7 3/8" Eg 5.5" - Nov 4 2005 Bpel 7 1/2" Eg 5.5" - Dec 26 2005 AKA italguy.

I’ve been looking at the diagram below and it seems that ligaments in the penis don’t extend far into the shaft. So maybe it’s just a muscle or tissue that I feel that’s slightly pulled. I’ve did some intense stretches, but nothing TOO intense, so I would think it would be hard to strain a ligament doing just manual stretches.
