Penis Hanging: Exhausting Weight at Angle vs. Changing to Another Angle

First post on Thunder’s Place, but lurking here and actively PEing for 8 months. First discovered/started PE maybe 10 years ago but never was consistent or got into it. Just want to give a thanks to the forum and posters here for a wealth of knowledge!
My question’s about hanging. I’ve read that one should exhaust all weight at a certain angle before moving on to another angle. Just trying to confirm if I’m correct with an example.
One should start hanging with only a single angle (I’m currently doing Straight Down). I should continue to gradually increase my straight down weight until I reach the max. At this point, I should then start a new angle (for example Over The Shoulder), only hang over the shoulder, and gradually increase the weight there until I reach max.
