I’ve heard different things about laser… Like after enough treatments the loss is permanent. I’m curious as to what’s advertising hype and what’s reality. I was thinking about laser, but I think I’d actually like permanence, so if electrolysis gets me that I won’t waste money on laser.

I’ve seared my genitals with nair for absolutely nothing, I doubt electrolysys would be more painful than that, and at least then it would all be over.

It depends on many variables. Most importantly, a hair has to be at a certain point of it’s growth cycle to be permanently destroyed by laser. Yet your hairs are all on different cycles. So you can’t get them all at once, or even after several treatments. This is why you will see thinning from laser, as some hairs are permanently removed. Second, we continue to get new hairs growing. At least, with respect to some areas of our bodies, some of us continue to get new hairs growing! :) This is another reason why repeated treatments are necessary.

Two more factors are the the color of the hair and the color of the skin. The best combination is dark hair with light skin. The laser is attracted to the dark pigmentation, so it just doesn’t work with light colored hair (blond, gray, white, or even light brown). But if the skin is dark, the laser will also have a hard time identifying and focusing in on the hair.

The strength of the laser charge, measured in “joules,” is also an obvious factor. Some people can stand more of a jolt, and with greater joules, the chances of permanently destroying any given hair follicle are increased. But with more energy, the chances of scaring or discoloration are increased as well. Lastly, the type of machine used is important, though I don’t really know anything about the different types being used.

The people I’ve known who have used laser for hair removal (mostly women, but a few men) have seen a definite improvement in the treated area, to varying degrees. But none of them have seen permanent removal of all hair in the treated area, even after a number of treatments.

I’m not suggesting that you shouldn’t use laser. But for the areas in question (base of shaft and balls), I think that electrolysis would be a better way to go. With electrolysis, an electric charge is passed to each hair follicle individually, via a needle-like device, thus destroying the follicle. Sometimes, it takes two or more treatments for a follicle to destroy it thoroughly. So each hair in the treated area is done individually. This is why electrolysis is much more time consuming and expensive. But it is a much more effective way to destroy the hair follicle. I simply wouldn’t want anyone passing 30 joules of energy via a laser into my balls on four or eight or however many occasions. Call me cautious!

For me, the reason my balls hang lower is because there’s no itch anymore. Before when the hair was a little long, or after shaving when it gets prickly.. It would be itchy and irritate me and anytime I had that feeling my balls wouldn’t hang loose. So now that they’re smooth and comfortable all the time, my balls tend to hang looser due to the comfort factor. This is how my body responds to smooth skin in that area, I’m sure it’s different for each individual. And yes, it is a VERY scary thing to go through with because lasers can burn and discolor. It takes a company who has experienced and patient staff with a number of machines to choose from, depending on the skin color and hair color.

I had Balls, Shaft, a little above the shaft so that it shows more dick.. Also, I did a little of the fold between the balls and legs. I have strong legs so that area always had a lot of friction when I’d work out (running, etc.)

I don’t scratch them.. But my hand is always in my pants, feeling how nice and smooth it is. Haha.
