Pumps

I’m going to start pumping added to my regular basic routine. There’s a lot of pumps out there and vary in price a lot. How do I know which to go for? I know I’m getting one with a gauge but will any basic pump work or are the more expensive ones superior? It seems like the kaplan pumps are popular but seem pretty expensive. Should I go for one of these or will any $40-$50 pump work? Thanks for any help.

I like many, started off with a sex shop novelty pump almost 10 years ago. I went through 2 of those in 2 years, before getting a decent, thickwall tube. The more expensive ones are superior: I’ve had my current tube 7 years, and it’s still holding up: not a crack in sight. The thick, rolled lip is also much more comfortable than the cheap straight edged ones.

Sorry, slim, I seem to have misread your post: you werent talking about tubes, were you? You wanted advice on pumps.

Anyway, you get what you pay for: I’ve been through a number of pumps, also, and I’ve always found that the higher quality ones lasted much longer that the cheaper ones.

Thanks for the quick response GlandMaster, I too actually had a sex shop pump about 3 years ago. I found it really didn’t help much at all. I guess it would be a better investment to just go with a better one right off the bat. Which pump are you currently using? Also is it a good idea to get the snugger fit tube or one a little bigger? I was looking at the kaplan pumps and thinking of the 1.75” since I am starting at 5” girth, or should I just get the 2” model to allow more room?

For your girth, it would be best for you to start with the 1.75 inch tube. With the 2.0 tube, you will constantly be fighting your balls being sucked in. The 1.75 tube will take you over 5.5 girth and then you can order the 2.0 tube. A 9 inch long tube should be plenty.
