Regarding erectile hardness

Regarding erectile hardness

I’ve two questions about erectile hardness for the readers here.

First, I would like to discuss what a normal erection should feel like in terms of hardness, and if it usually relates to ones position. Should one be able to compress the shaft just a littletiny bit, or does it normally not give more way than, say, a wooden cylinder? In my personal experience, I can usually compress the shaft a small fraction of an inch – unless I’m standing up while erect and the penis is pulled down by gravity, or if I’m lying on my back and am holding it straight up in a similar manner. While sitting up the erection is also incompressible. Thus, in these positions it doesn’t give much way whatsoever.

For the record, I can never bend it at all in any position, even when I am able to compress it a little bit. Sometimes, ‘though, I get these extremely hard 110% erections when it’s completely wooden in all positions.

Does this seem normal to you other people here, or should I be worried in the least? I’m 26 years old, and in good cardiovascular health etc.

For my second question, I wanted to ask in which percentage of a full erection people generally masturbate. Personally, I’m always at 90-100%, but I’ve read that it’s normal to keep it lower than this, around 70-80%.

Thanks for your replies!

Seems normal to me.

Expecting 100% out of your body 100% of the time is crazy, especially when your mental and physical state has such a great impact. I normally wont be able to get a super hard erection if my body needs rest in other ways. Some months I’m 70 - 90% and others 90-100%, and I’ve had a 30-50% month in there due to stress and feeling sexually rejected. Congrats on you being 90-100% all the time. I’m ~25 male, physically active with a physical job.

You’re right, of course - the human body is better understood as an interconnected system rather than a heap of adjoined parts etc. Stress obviously hampers normal bodily function as well.

I’ve actually come to expect no less than constantly perfect function, and that may, as you imply, be a tad unrealistic.

But in regard to my other questions, do you experience similar fluctuations in rigidity due to the position of your body? I’m a bit interested in this phenomenon from an evolutionary perspective, and have wondered why this is the case with human males, if it’s indeed normal.

I’ll just shamelessly bump this thread.

Was going to reply to this yesterday but then things came up.

I do sometimes experience fluctuations in rigidity due to the position of my body, my side and squatting over is the best, on my back is the poorest - but sometimes it’s really strong (I’ve never liked laying on my back, maybe that’s why), and the rest aren’t really that noticeably different. I’m also not sure if there’s an evolutionary reason. I mean there’s a lot of reason for selection and having sex in a certain position seems less of a detail than say aggressiveness (rape like tendencies)
