Slow and Steady Versus Hard and Heavy for gains

Slow and Steady Versus Hard and Heavy for gains

I’ve tried a lot of routines over the years and haven’t gained anything. Recently, I’ve been too busy to do long strenuous routines, and have started doing just a small newb routine (10-15min jelq 1/ 5-10 min stretch), which I may possibly supplement with a ADS at some point.

I’ve read a lot of different stories about how gains come about - some get them through the newb routine over time, whereas others seem to get them through advanced exercises that consumed a lot of hours a day. My question is, which do you guys generally think contributes more to gains?

Lets assume the heavy exercisers aren’t ‘overdoing it’, and lets take out of the equation the probable reality that different folks react to different strokes: Is it better to do a small simple routine regularly for a long period, or are heavy advanced ones the only way to gain?

Well for me I don’t stick with a time limit to do my jelqs. I’ve been trying to focus on each jelq, and not paying too much attention to the overall time it takes. In the beginning I was doing them too fast, but I’d make sure I did 10mins worth. I didn’t gain anything until I switched to doing a set amount a night.

I find this statement hard to believe, but if it’s true why are you still here?

And to answer your question, I think both are effective.
