VegasGuy, I agree with measuring from the top BP. When I measure from the side I gain a half inch, but it really does look like fudging the numbers. I wonder how many men answered the survey(s) by measuring from the side. It would make the world of a difference, a lot of 5 inch wieners grow to 6 or bigger when you go from NBP (actual shaft and head length) to side BP.

I think measurring flaccid length in hanging state would be a bad idea- how would you verify that you are pushing into the bone at exactly the same angle/place every time? also would this be flaccid stretched length? if not I know my measurements would vary wildly based on how it’s hanging that day and also based on how high or low my testicles are sitting at that given time.
I think measuring straight out flaccid bone pressed stretch length would be the most fool proof way to measure gains.
As far as erect measurements I think again measuring straight out with the ruler on top of the penis and the penis pushed flush with the ruler would be the most accurate way to determine the penis’ true length- especially if you were trying to figure your penis’ volume to see how much inner vagina it will displace. I do this and with my curve it’s not to comfortable but by doing this I will be consistent- if my curvature changes my penis length will not.
As far as girth just pick a good defining point near the mid shaft and always measure there- I use a prominent vein and/or my circumcision scar. Or pick a few points- base, mid, head would be a good cross section- this may be better as depending on what excersizes you are doing you could see gains in one or all of the areas.
Whatever you choose the key is to be consistent in your measuring methods or you will never know if you really made gains or not. If someone else doesn’t like the way you measure your dick…. well they don’t have to use your method.
This is not a competition among members of Thunders- I think we are all on the same team. This is a competition against all the other guys our partners has been with and our own insecurities.

Our measurements could be validated by a thunders volunteer who would promise to use the same technique to measure each penis. She would have to promise to also wear the exact same outfit for each measurement- gotta be fair…..Ha, ha….

Okay pabs. I’m a technician. And, as we know, we technicians fix engineers’ mistakes. :DI to agree that there should be a standard. Doing a web check I found that there is NO penis measuring device that is specifically meant to measure penis length. I also hate acronyms. From the pictures you can also see that some guys take great liberties with the ruler. You feel like saying, “Yeah, you have 8 inches but you are measuring from your asshole!”
Therefore, I have some preliminary plans to make a measuring device which would be accurate and all measurements would be created (or taken) equally.
I would submit the prototype to Thunder for inspection and approval.Basically it would be a pubic pad plate with a 2” dia. opening. On the opposite side of the base plate would be a 12” long trough. The trough would be graduated with in./cm. The thickness of the baseplate would be considered. For use the penis would be inserted into the hole of the base plate and placed in the trough. The man would be in a standing position. He would put the end of the of the trough that is furthest from him against a wall or door casing and push. He could use the thumb and index finger to hold an erection in position if needed.
With this device, everyone, would have to use the thing in the same manner. No cheating. Whatever you got through the hole would be you dick. No questions about.

Yes, this is not a competition. I started measuring with a tape measure. If I now switched to a ruler, I wouldn’t know where the fuck I am with my gains. I double checked using a ruler to make sure the tape I have been using hasn’t stretched, although I don’t believe the material it is made from stretches anyway. The measurements are exactly the same.
The important point here is to use the same device and to try to measure in the same exact way each time, whatever the angle and whatever the degree of erection, etc. etc.
My problem, I would think, would be to photograph my erect penis using a ruler. I can grease my dick, according to Regular White Guy, and stick the tape measure on it, freeing my two hands to take the pic.
Not easy.

Guys have any of you noticed that when your penis is at 90degress, there is a protruding ligament/tendon in the middle from pelvis to base? Maybe this is just for me as my penis has a very high angle and so 90degrees is tightening this tendon. My point is that if you measure right from the top, this tendon (quite narrow) is stopping you from getting the ruler to the pelvic bone. However if you still measure from the top, yet slightly to the side(level with the top in terms of height, yet slightly to the left/right) you get a bigger measurement. Anyone else find this?
I do not have a very high erection angle now (anymore)a bit above 90 deg., but if I measure in the middle (top)with a ruler there is ligament/tendon and the ruler pushes my penis in a bit. I have done quite a bit of stretching and the base girth is larger. If I measure on the top off center there is .25” or more difference. I have been PEing for about 5 years with a low key consistently inconsistent program and have gained 2.5” BPEL. To improve my measuring consistency I use a 3/4” PVC pipe marked with accurate measurements. The pipe makes it so I do not stab myself as with the ruler looking for the last 1/16 of an inch! It seems to be easy and more consistent.
When young I was about bpel 6x5 by 2002 size had shrunk down to bpel 5.5x4.8 with age, had to do something!
09/10 bpel 8.4, eg 5.8 midshaft (6.3 base) Goal- 9x6.2 average eg.
