Strange Bump

I have a strange bump on the base of my shaft and close to my sack. It looks almost like a pimple but not so much. It appeared about a month ago or so and I thought it’d go away but has remained. I shave down there almost everyday, so could this just be an effect of shaving? TIA

Could be an ingrown hair or cyst…

I’ve gotten those from time to time. I believe it is just an ingrown hair. This sounds painful but it isn’t bad at all compared to the iritation of the festering ingrown hair.

Good tweezers, rubbing alcohol, and a straight needle are needed (nowdays I don’t need the needle but it is a little easier with it).

First, clean the sore, tweezers, and needle thouroughly with the rubbing alcohol. Then lightly pick into the highest point of the bump.

Do NOT go to fast or deep because you will hit nerves. By steadily picking at the bump you will get down to the hair folicle with little pain. There might be a good deal of blood coming out so be prepared. Slowly pick/pry the ingrown hair out of the skin (the hair will still be attached at the base). Finally pluck the hair with the tweezers and clean up with the alcohol.

Note: A triple antibiotic ointment will accelerate the healing process. With this ointment it usually heals in 3-4 days.

You seem to know alot about this. I have the same problem. I thought at first this bump I had was a mosquito bite or something so I left it alone. It didn’t go away, so finally I tried to pop it ‘cause I thought it was a pimple, but I think that just made it worse. I’m just leaving it now and it is not as swollen, but it is pretty hard on the inside still. Does this sound like an ingrown hair? Can you get ingrown hairs without shaving ‘cause I haven’t shaved down there ever.

You can get ingrown hairs anywhere you grow hair. The hair starts to come out but somehow gets lodged and ends up creating this bump from trying to grow.

Try what shortwide said and see if it works. It is a lot easier than my method, scratch the bump away and pull the hair out.

I also forgot to mention that if you pull the thinnest part of the skin out and lightly press the underside of the bump, sometimes you can see the outline of the hair. This will make it much easier to pick out.

Thanks for the help. I tried it out and got them out. How long does it take for the swelling to go down and should i stop stretching until this heals?

Goddamit, it was a disaster trying to get mine out. For one I don’t even know that I have an ingrown hair. I’m gonna try again tomorrow, then I might have to go to the doctor to see what the hell this thing is. Thanks for the info though shortwide.
