Time off and it HURTS

Time off and it HURTS

I took some time off from PEing, about like 2 months. My unit size went down, I was 7.1”. Now I am like 6.7” maybe lower. Not only that but my girth went down too, from 5.8” to 5.3”. I’am going to try not to have that much time off in the near future.

My stats: NBP= 6.8, BP= 7.1, EG= 5.2, FS= 4.0, BPFS= 4.3, FG= 3.8

My goal is NBP 8.0 ,BP 8.5, EG 6.0

Why didn’t you cement your gains before you took time off?

Bird2, you say that like it is a sience..it is not. He just said that he lost gains, how would you feel if you lost gains?

I would smack my own head to have not done the cementing gains.

Of course I am sorry for his loss but wouldn’t it be a good thing to point out his mistake so that other people won’t make the same mistake?

Probably, but only if you followed it up with a explanation and description on how one can cement ones gains. A link would be less personal but it would still have helped more then your question. Not out to start trouble, just found your reply harsh.

I am a very direct person, like many of my fellow Dutchman are, I thought you knew that. Unfortunately being a very direct person is considered harsh by some people from other countries.

I didn’t give an explanation or a link because I expect from a member who has joined in August 2006 that he knows where the search button is.

Mr. Bird,

As a newbie, I’ve been unable to successfully track down how to cement gains. I feel like such a pest continually asking for answers to questions I know you’ve answered so many times before. But after at least 45 minutes of roaming this site, I cannot find anything on how to actually cement gains.

PS: I’ve yet to actually gain anything yet, but for when the time comes, I’d like to have that knowledge.

Fair enough. Cockmaster, next time you could try a cementing faze before your break consisting of light manual stretches in all directions, every day, for one week. Warm wrap for 5-10min first, hold each stretch for 30sec. It should do the job.

Good enough for me. Even though it wasn’t directed at me. Thanks!

Will that also cementing the girth? Or maybe should add 50 reps light jelq for a week too?

I have no idea. I know that one of my test-subjects used the cementing routine I mentioned and did not lose any gains in length in his following 1 month decon break. He had done a length routine and had not gained any girth. For girth I think you should do a search and maybe ask some of the veteran pumpers and clampers.

I am unaware that ‘cementing gains’ is a certainty. There seems to be some degree of success with holding on to gains if time off is preceded by a lighter maintenance phase, but I don’t think there are any guarantees.

I think some of that Dutch directness could perhaps be tempered with some compassion and perhaps also a helpful example of a search
that might be of use to a distressed fellow Thunder's Place member, no? It’d cost you nothing except a little time and it would add to the dialogue, which is what a forum’s all about.

A little charity now and then doesn’t kill any of us, y’know? I’m just saying.

Anyway.

Here’s to a speedy recovery of lost ground.

After: I\'d like to show you something I\'m very proud of, but you guys in the front row will have to stand back.

What are the possible physical processes involved in losing 0.5” girth?

I think this thread should be hijacked to discuss the directness and rudeness of Dutch people.

And what about the Japanese? They’re rarely direct and not very rude. I hate that too.

Then there are the Americans: all over the place on this, no consistency. That pisses me off more.

On the subject of cementing, I read in a medical journal that some types of stretching, in the early stages, starts by coercing tissue to align in the direction of the force. This gives the appearance of effective stretching.

However, if the stretching is ceased prematurely, the fibers realign to their prior orientation, resulting in “loss”.

Therefore, the stretching should continue past the point of gains in order to coerce growth of new tissue.
